Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student has successfully addressed most of the bullet points outlined in the prompt. The response explains what went well during the move, specifically highlighting how well the furniture and possessions were handled and arranged. Additionally, the writer praises the removal team's decoration skills, noting how they paid attention to tiny details and cleaned up effectively. However, the letter suffers from a major task-fulfillment issue regarding the third bullet point: the prompt explicitly asks the candidate to 'mention an aspect of the service that you were not happy with'. Looking closely at the student's text, there is no mention of a negative aspect or a complaint; instead, the entire letter is overwhelmingly positive. Because a required prompt requirement has been omitted, the task cannot be considered fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks appropriate conventional formatting for a formal letter, beginning abruptly with 'Thank you for helping me out' rather than a standard greeting such as 'Dear Sir or Madam,' as instructed in the prompt. Furthermore, the overall organization is somewhat confused. Ideas tend to run together into long, dense paragraphs without clear logical progression or sufficient transitional markers. For instance, the transition from moving furniture to discussing the writer's personal fatigue and demanding schedule is abrupt and disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun usage in sentences like 'which exactly you done like dusting to cleaning.' Paragraphing is poorly utilized, creating a single massive block of text for the main body that makes the text difficult to follow smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with noticeable word choice and collocation errors that hinder precision. For example, the student writes 'Trustfull company' (spelling and capitalization error), 'decorate my furniture and possession', and 'all the around I attend meeting'. Words are often misused in this context, such as applying 'decorate' to the arrangement of everyday moving boxes and furniture, or 'aesthetic and peaceful' in a slightly unnatural way. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'exhausted', 'aesthetic', and 'elegant', these attempts are often undermined by awkward phrasing. Spelling errors ('Trustfull', 'details') and incorrect word forms ('possession' instead of 'possessions') further limit the lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or awkward compound-complex constructions that frequently break down. There are numerous noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'Those furniture and possession becoming my headache', 'my brain stop thinking', 'my body become so weak', 'that I hardly can be moved', and 'which exactly you done'). Punctuation is also weak, marked by missing spaces after periods (e.g., 'out.I was') and a lack of control over complex sentence boundaries. These recurring errors frequently cause strain and difficulty for the reader in interpreting the intended meaning.
