Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The candidate has successfully addressed all bullet points required by the task prompt. Specifically, the student explains what went well on the move day, noting that employees moved everything carefully and handled an extra trip. Furthermore, the writer praises an employee named Mohammad for being hardworking and kind, and mentions an aspect of the service that was unsatisfactory—namely, an employee arriving late and being distracted by their phone. While the salutation and sign-off contain minor inconsistencies with the prompt instruction 'Dear Sir or Madam,' the overall communicative purpose is successfully met. Ideas are relevant and clearly cover all aspects required, placing the response securely in Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is generally coherent and arranged in a logical sequence, moving from general positive feedback to specific employee praise, and finally to negative feedback followed by a closing remark. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct topics, such as the initial overview in the first paragraph, the praise for Mohammad in the second, and the complaint in the third. However, cohesive devices are somewhat basic and repetitive, and referencing is occasionally faulty, such as 'that made feel angry one time and we has miscommunicate.' The overall organisation is clear enough to ensure the message flows without major confusion, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptor.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'reliable', 'affordable', 'flexible', and 'well-managed'. However, there are noticeable lexical and spelling inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'transforming' instead of 'transporting', 'realible', 'absulately', and 'serviece'. While these errors are frequent, they do not severely impede communication because the intended meaning remains understandable to the reader. These characteristics correspond closely to the Band 5.0 descriptor for Lexical Resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over basic structures. However, there are numerous grammatical errors throughout the response, such as missing auxiliary verbs and articles in 'service that recently i had received', 'Employees really kind', and 'that waste my time'. There are also tense and agreement issues, such as 'we has miscommunicate'. These errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, though the underlying meaning can still be deciphered. This level of control represents a solid Band 5.0 performance.
