Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to share my feedback about the service the company rendered during my recent move to a new appartment.
Firstly, I commend the overall effiency of staffs in handling my belongings, they ensure all the furnitures and possession were handled with care and ensure they arrived safely. I was really impressed with their professionalism and friendliness. The staffs were well trained and they delivered their work effectively.
Secondly, I would like to personally appreciate a staff, his name is Jame he is so kind and friendly while maintaining his professionalism. He is very observant and ensure all my belongings arrived safely.
However, there is one thing I was not pleased with, and that was the punctuality aspect. I was not able to meet up with the time i scheduled because they came late. I was so disappointed because i particulary stated it that i do not want to move behind schedule.
Overall, the company was a good one. They should continue with their excellent service delivery and professionalism. Nevertheless, the punctuality aspect should improve incase of another time.
Yours faithfully,
Sofiat.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The student has successfully covered all bullet points required in the task instructions. The letter explains what went well on the day of the move, specifically mentioning the careful handling of belongings and overall efficiency. It praises a helpful employee named Jame, noting his kindness and observation skills. It also clearly mentions the aspect of the service that caused dissatisfaction, which was the lack of punctuality. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter of complaint and feedback, and the purpose of the communication is immediately clear. Ideas are well-developed and fulfil all requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter is logically organised with a clear beginning, body paragraphs addressing distinct prompts, and a polite concluding paragraph. The student uses standard paragraphing effectively to separate the different ideas requested in the task. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'However' are used to guide the reader through the text, although some transitions could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, and the overall progression of information follows a logical path from praise to criticism and finally to overall summary.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'professionalism', 'efficiency', and 'observant'. However, there are several noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'appartment' instead of 'apartment', 'effiency' instead of 'efficiency', 'staffs' used as a plural noun, and 'furnitures' used with an incorrect plural form. Despite these lexical slips, communication is never impeded, and the intended meaning remains clear to the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses and compound-complex sentences. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'they ensure' instead of 'they ensured', 'a staff, his name is Jame he is' resulting in run-on structures, and 'time i scheduled' with a lowercase pronoun. Punctuation errors, such as comma splices in 'handling my belongings, they ensure', also occur. These errors demonstrate a less than secure control over grammar, though the meaning is generally understandable.
