Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letterfor expressing my strong customer statisfaction towards the service provided by your company.
I recently moved my home furniture and applaines to my new location with your company support. The moving day was quiet easy beacuse of the well services of the workers, in addition hardwork and time management are the major quality I have seen in your employees.
I want to give a special mention to the employee named Joseph, he was very helpful and suppportive. Moreover, I have noticed that he was encouraging the co-workers to finish the job quckly and more careful about the furniture. I believe that he deserve the best employee award for the monthe.
However, i have a concer regarding the company's appointment time. We planned to start the shifting in the early morning 7 30 AM, however the moving team was late by half an hour. They told me that it was difficult to find out the house address.
I am greatful with the service provided by the company and thank you for the hardwork and cooperation.
Yours faithfully
Adam

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You successfully cover all bullet points required by the prompt. You begin by explaining what went well on the day you moved house, noting that the moving day was easy due to the workers' services. You praise an employee named Joseph, highlighting his helpfulness and encouragement of his co-workers. Finally, you mention an aspect you were not happy with, specifically the half-hour delay in the removal team's arrival. The tone is appropriate for a formal complaint/feedback letter, and the purpose is clear from the beginning. Although there are some minor unnatural phrasings in expressing your ideas, all parts of the task are well addressed. Therefore, your performance aligns well with Band 6.5 to 7.0; you successfully cover all parts, earning a solid Band 6.0, moving towards Band 7.0 for addressing all three bullet points with relevant details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your letter is structured with appropriate paragraphing, including a standard salutation, clear body paragraphs covering each bullet point, and a polite sign-off. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'in addition', 'moreover', and 'however' to link your ideas and indicate shifts in your narrative. However, some referencing and transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are occasional punctuation issues around your connectors. Despite these flaws, the overall arrangement is coherent, and the reader can easily follow the sequence of events from the positive aspects to the negative aspect and final appreciation. This performance corresponds well to Band 6.5, showing a coherent overall arrangement with logical paragraphing and clear attempts at cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'satisfaction', 'appliance', 'cooperation', and 'appointment time'. However, there are several spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'statisfaction' instead of satisfaction, 'applaines' instead of appliances, 'quiet easy' instead of quite easy, 'quckly' instead of quickly, and 'greatful' instead of grateful. Furthermore, some collocations are slightly unnatural, such as 'for expressing my strong customer satisfaction'. These errors do not impede communication since your meaning remains clear, but they prevent you from reaching a higher band. Your lexical resource sits comfortably at a Band 6.0, as you have an adequate range with some spelling and word-choice errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including subordinate clauses introduced by 'because of', 'that', and 'however'. While you show good control in many sentences, there are noticeable grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'I am writing this letterfor expressing' (spacing and preposition error), 'The moving day was quiet easy beacuse of' (spelling and phrasing errors), 'he deserve the best employee award for the monthe' (subject-verb agreement and spelling), and 'We planned to start the shifting in the early morning 7 30 AM' (punctuation and redundancy). Despite these recurring slips, your sentences are generally understandable and communication is rarely impeded. This corresponds to a Band 6.0, featuring a mix of simple and complex structures alongside noticeable errors in grammar and spelling.
