Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Last week your company helped me in best way and I am writing this letter in appreciation as my feedback.
On the moving day I was so anxious since there was a lot mess to shorted out. Even I did not know about your company but my friend gave me contact details and he fixed the service date. So it was my first experiance with your service and I am facinated by it. Like your workers are so helpful and detail oriented. They handled my precious stuff so carefully and left me stress-free. Heavy iteams such as furniture was shifted cautiously. Although there was lot of possessions and very short time period, they moved everything so preciesly.
There was an employee named Vijay, he is so meticulous person. He was guiding everyone swiftly and smartly on that day. On that day I had to reach on time to my new place because of key collection and had to sign agreemnets and we met that deadline since Vijay helped. Yet there is one area of your service need attention which is providing tools and necessory equipments to the workers. During my shifting my friend arranged some basic things to secure my iteams such as tape for doors, big strong rope and markers for labling boxes. Other than that everything is perfect.
I hope my feedback help your organisation to grow in positive way.
Regards,
Riya

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The candidate has successfully addressed all three bullet points required in the task instructions. She explains what went well on the moving day, specifically mentioning how carefully her precious items and heavy furniture were handled despite the short time frame. She praises an employee named Vijay for his meticulous guidance and leadership, and she mentions an aspect of the service she was not happy with, namely the lack of tools and necessary equipment provided to the workers. The tone is appropriately polite and formal for a business feedback letter, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently extended, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.5 or 7.0. Given the clarity and complete coverage of all bullet points, a band score of 6.5 is awarded.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter is logically organised and easy to follow. It follows a conventional letter structure, beginning with an appropriate salutation and closing with a sign-off. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate different points, such as the general positive experience, the praise for Vijay, and the area for improvement regarding tools. Cohesive devices are used adequately, including transition words like 'Although' and 'Yet'. However, some referencing is slightly repetitive or mechanical, and transitions between sentences can occasionally feel abrupt. Overall arrangement is coherent and progression is clear throughout, aligning well with the descriptors for a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'meticulous', 'facinated', and 'detailed oriented'. However, there are several word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'shorted out' instead of 'sorted out', 'experiance' instead of 'experience', 'iteams' instead of 'items', 'preciesly' instead of 'precisely', and 'necessory' instead of 'necessary'. While these spelling and word-choice errors do not impede communication, they prevent the score from reaching a higher band. The vocabulary is generally sufficient for the purpose, supporting a Band 6.0 rating.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The candidate attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, using structures like conditional-style phrasing and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'Although there was lot of possessions and very short time period, they moved everything so preciesly'). There are several grammatical errors and punctuation issues present, such as subject-verb agreement errors ('there was lot of possessions', 'service need attention') and missing articles ('reach on time', 'in best way'). Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear and they rarely impede communication. This balance of mixed structures and noticeable errors fits the Band 6.0 descriptors.
