Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The student partially addresses the prompt by explaining what went well on the move and praising an employee, Mr. David. However, the third bullet point regarding an aspect of the service that was not satisfactory is completely missing from the letter. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the minimum length requirement, containing only 98 words instead of the required 150 words. Because important parts of the prompt are omitted and the word count falls well short of the minimum, the task achievement is severely limited. To improve, the writer must ensure every bullet point in the task instructions is fully addressed and expand the letter to meet the 150-word minimum.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter attempts to organise ideas logically, starting with an opening statement of purpose followed by positive aspects and an employee praise. However, the cohesion is often faulty and mechanical. For instance, phrases like 'I was wondered due to the work' and 'there won't be any kind of property damage had taken place' are awkwardly connected, making the progression difficult to follow. Additionally, the text is presented as a single dense block instead of being properly divided into logical paragraphs with a greeting and sign-off. Paragraphing and cohesive devices need to be used more effectively to guide the reader smoothly through the letter.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is somewhat limited and basic. The student attempts some less common expressions, such as 'proactive and spontaneous' and 'team coordinator', but many word choices and collocations are unnatural or incorrect. Examples include 'provide a feedback', 'moving my possession', and 'I was wondered due to the work'. These lexical errors cause noticeable strain and confusion for the reader. To achieve a higher band score, the student should focus on accurate word formation, natural collocations, and avoiding direct translation from their native language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic sentence forms with frequent structural errors. There are notable issues with verb tenses and clause structures, such as 'there won't be any kind of property damage had taken place' and 'It made to shift my entire things very quickly'. These persistent errors cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning. The student needs to practice forming complex sentences accurately, paying close attention to verb agreement, tense consistency, and prepositions.
