Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by explaining what went well on the move day, praising a specific employee, and mentioning an unhappy aspect regarding the high service charges. However, some bullet points are more fully developed than others. For instance, the explanation of what went well and the praise for the employee are quite clear, while the mention of the pricing issue is rather brief and could be extended further with specific details. This uneven development is characteristic of this level, where all requirements are met but certain sections lack full elaboration.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear sequence of ideas, moving logically from the introduction and positive aspects to the employee's praise, the complaint, and the closing. Paragraphing is utilised appropriately to separate different points. However, cohesion is at times mechanical, relying on basic transition markers such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'finally'. Furthermore, some referencing and transitions between sentences, such as the abrupt shift into the pricing paragraph, indicate that cohesive devices are used somewhat rigidly rather than with fluid flexibility.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to use less common items such as 'budget friendly' and 'unnecessary'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-form errors that detract from precision, including 'wether' instead of weather, 'fruniture' instead of furniture, 'unnesseraly' instead of unnecessary, 'work' instead of worked, 'easly' instead of easily, and 'serviece' instead of service. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they reflect a limited and somewhat inaccurate control of lexical features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writing displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as the use of subordinate clauses with 'because of this' and 'which required huge strength'. There are, however, several grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies ('he did not takes', 'he work'), punctuation and capitalization issues (starting 'finally' with a lowercase letter), and awkward phrasing like 'I am writing a letter to give you a feedback'. These errors in grammar and punctuation persist, but they rarely impede overall comprehension.
