Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully cover all bullet points required by the prompt. You explain what went well during the move, praise a specific helpful employee named Hardik, and mention an aspect of the service you were not happy with, namely his smoking. However, some parts of your response are more fully developed than others. While the praise for Hardik and the complaint about smoking are clearly expressed, the explanation of what went well at the beginning is somewhat brief and relies on simple statements like "was so busy" and "moved our stuff one one place to another." To achieve a higher level, your ideas need to be more fully extended and supported with clearer details regarding the overall removal process.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter shows an overall coherent arrangement and a logical structure with a clear beginning and ending. You attempt to use cohesive devices to connect your thoughts, such as "Moreover," "Although," and "However." However, the referencing and linking are sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, the transition "Although, he gave me different ways..." is used incorrectly, as "although" introduces a contrast rather than adding supporting information. Additionally, paragraphing is attempted, but some sentences feel disconnected rather than flowing smoothly together. To progress further, you need to use cohesive devices more accurately and ensure that logical relationships between sentences are managed more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your general meaning to the reader. You attempt to use some less common vocabulary items, such as "patience" and "appreciate," but these are mixed with noticeable errors in word choice and phrasing. For example, writing "was need to move" instead of "needed to move," and referring to smoking as "any kind of drug," causes some awkwardness and inaccuracy in your expression. Spelling and word formation errors also appear, such as repetitive phrasing and slight collocations slips. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your vocabulary score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms throughout your letter, attempting structures like conditional and subordinate clauses. However, your grammar features frequent errors in tense selection, preposition usage, and sentence construction. Examples include "my friend suggest me," "to moved my furniture," and "I wasnt happy with his smoking." Articles and subject-verb agreements also show persistent inaccuracies, such as missing necessary articles before nouns. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent you from reaching a higher level of grammatical control. A greater focus on accurate verb forms and preposition patterns will help improve this area.
