Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am wiriting this to give a feedback about the service you provided for moving my furniture.
Last week I took your service for moving my apartment. Fortunately, everything went very well and I shifted my belongings very easily.
The team did excellent job, they arrived on time and worked very effeciently to move my furniture without causing any major damage. I am very satisfied with your service. Apart from that, I would like to appreciate the efforts from steve. He is very polite and hard working person. He did most of the heavy lifting that day.
However, I personally think that work standards could be improved. As I saw the team working without not only proper safety but also correct tools. Hence, that could be result in serious injury for employees as well as others people.Nevertheless, I am very grateful for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Neel Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all parts of the prompt, earning a solid score. You have addressed the three main bullet points by explaining what went well on the moving day, praising a helpful employee named Steve, and mentioning an unhappy aspect regarding safety and tools. Your position is clear throughout the letter, and the ideas are generally well extended, such as detailing how Steve handled the heavy lifting. However, some ideas show a slight tendency to over-generalise and could benefit from further specific elaboration to reach the highest level, particularly in explaining the consequences of the safety concerns mentioned in the final paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your letter demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement and clear logical progression from the opening to the closing. You have used paragraphing sufficiently and appropriately, dividing your introduction, positive aspects, employee praise, and negative feedback into distinct sections. While the text is generally easy to follow, cohesion is occasionally a bit mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Apart from that' and 'Hence' could be used more flexibly or naturally to bridge your ideas. Referencing and paragraph transitions are mostly clear, showing strong elements of the higher band while still retaining some mechanical features typical of the current level.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You have used an adequate range of vocabulary for this general task, attempting some less common words and phrases like 'efficiently', 'satisfaction', and 'appreciate the efforts'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that prevent a higher score. For instance, 'wiriting' contains a spelling error, 'effeciently' is misspelled, and phrases like 'took your service' are awkward collocations compared to 'used your service'. Additionally, expressions such as 'others people' show minor lexical control slips. Despite these errors, communication is never impeded, and your vocabulary remains sufficient to convey your message clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating your ability to construct compound thoughts. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues throughout the text. Examples include verb form and preposition errors such as 'give a feedback', spelling-based grammar slips, and faulty complex structures like 'As I saw the team working without not only proper safety but also correct tools' and 'Hence, that could be result in serious injury'. These errors require the reader to occasionally pause, and while they rarely completely impede communication, they restrict the grammar score because error-free sentences are not frequent enough.
