Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sana,

I am writing to give reviews regarding the service which your company provided me at last Friday.

I would like to explain the situation in detail. I worried about the movement of fragile items of mine, espacially imported vases and crokery items. I am passionate about decoration of my house. So, i find all the items moved and placed at their places without any damages.

Secondly, the staff of your company are very professional. They all was working according to my instructions. All of them are very supportive, espacially a boy I forgoet his name, his hair colour was red. He helped me a lot while shifting. They shifted all the equipment without any problem. Additionally, I am very impressed with a free service of cleaning after the shifting, it saved my time.

Lastly, one thing I would like to recommend you is that you should hire 2 to 3 persons. Because your team is consist of only 3 people and due to this reason they take much time of moving objects. Otherwise, all the service your are giving is excellent.

Thankyou and take care.

Best wishes,

Kinza latif

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three requested points: you describe the safe handling of fragile belongings, praise a helpful worker, and identify the small team size as a concern. The positive details about the vases and crockery, the employee with red hair, and the cleaning service make the feedback relevant and personal. However, the praise for the employee is not fully developed because you cannot name him and give only a brief account of his help. The complaint is also framed as a recommendation to hire more people, rather than clearly explaining the effect on your move. State directly that the limited crew made the move take longer, then add a specific example or impact to make this point more complete and persuasive. The next step is fuller development of each point, especially the criticism and individual praise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The message has a clear overall progression, moving from what went well, to staff praise, and then to the aspect you would change. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and signposts such as “Secondly” and “Lastly” help the reader follow the main points. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the opening “I would like to explain the situation in detail” does not add much to the progression. Within the staff paragraph, praise, the employee’s help, the successful move, and the cleaning service are grouped together, so the focus shifts quickly. Use clearer paragraph focus and more natural transitions, and make references such as “they” unambiguous when moving between the team and the individual employee. This would make the organisation feel more consistently controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “fragile items,” “imported vases,” “supportive,” and “cleaning,” so the reader can understand the service you are describing. There are also attempts at more specific language, but several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “give reviews” is unnatural in this context, “movement” is less suitable than a term for transporting belongings, and “equipment” does not accurately describe household possessions. Spelling errors such as “espacially,” “crokery,” and “forgoet” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “provide feedback,” “move my belongings,” and “household items,” and proofread spelling. This would strengthen the range and control of your vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter includes both short statements and attempts at longer structures, for example “Because your team is consist of only 3 people and due to this reason they take much time of moving objects.” However, some sentence structures and verb forms are faulty, and these errors make parts less natural to read. Examples include “They all was working,” “your team is consist,” and “they take much time,” where agreement, verb construction, or tense needs attention. The sentence beginning “Because” is also left as a fragment, while “I worried about the movement” does not express the intended meaning clearly through its grammatical pattern. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and complete complex sentences, such as “Because the team had only three members, the move took longer than expected.”
