Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for the furniture moving service that you provided last week. Also, I admire that you asked me to provide a feedback.
I want to mention that you runs the best moving service in the city. On the day of moving your staff came on the exact time, that I mentioned on the request form and they have all the equipments required for moving stuff. They handle all the furniture carefully.
All the employees of your company is best, but I particularly want to mentioned that ALI did a great work. I lost teh box of my LED, so I assume that their might be a chance the it got some scratches: but Ali wraped my Led in such a good way it won't get any scratch.
Apart from that, I was unhappy with only one thing, that after removing the stuff they should clean the area. They left lots of packing stuff over there, hence it was a great experience.
Please feel free to contact me, for futher questions.
Thank you
Your faithfully,
Pankaj.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover all three requested points: the move went smoothly, Ali is praised for protecting the television, and you identify the packing materials left behind. The specific detail about staff arriving at the requested time and handling furniture carefully makes the positive feedback relevant. However, some ideas are unclear or not fully developed. For example, “I lost the box of my LED” makes it difficult to understand the situation, and the complaint is weakened by the contradictory ending “hence it was a great experience.” Explain more clearly what was left and why this affected your experience, then close with a consistent overall assessment. The opening and closing could also be more appropriately formal for a letter to a company.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally coherent arrangement: it opens with thanks, describes the moving day, singles out Ali, and then raises a complaint. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and phrases such as “Apart from that” signal a shift to the negative feedback. Some connections, however, are awkward or unclear. “Hence it was a great experience” appears to contradict the complaint immediately before it, while “Also” in the opening does not create a particularly smooth link. The reference to “the box of my LED” also makes the sequence of events hard to follow. Use clearer transitions and ensure that each paragraph develops one point in a logical order, ending with a conclusion that matches the feedback given.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “furniture,” “carefully,” “packing stuff,” and “particularly helpful.” However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the message difficult to interpret. “Equipments” is not normally used as a plural, “moving stuff” is informal, and “I lost the box of my LED” does not clearly express what happened. There are also spelling errors such as “teh,” “wraped,” and “futher.” Choose precise terms for the items and service, and check spelling and collocations. More natural expressions such as “packing materials” and “handled the furniture with care” would make the letter clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, for example, “I am writing this letter…” and the sentence explaining Ali’s care of the television. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction occur throughout. Examples include “you runs,” “your staff came … and they have,” “All the employees … is,” and “I particularly want to mentioned.” The sentence beginning “I lost…” also contains several faulty grammatical links, making its meaning difficult to follow. Review subject–verb agreement and keep verb forms consistent when describing past events. Breaking the long sentence about the television into two clear sentences would also help you express the idea accurately while retaining some variety in structure.
