Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I want to thank you for your best service of removing my furniture and possessions in my new apartment last week.

I would mention that the comapny did not keep me on waiting. As I booked the service, the company provided it so soon as possible. Secondly, my all luggage and other items were moved in one time because company sent a big truck, so it saved my valuable time as well. In the end, it was a sunny day that time, so I did not face any problems that I could have from bad weather.

I would like to appreciate the efforts of company's employee. Although his job was just to drive the truck and take my luggage at my new apartment, he also helped me to load and unload the items until work was not finished. Furthermore, he had a good dressing sence and an effective way of communication which made me happy.

There was an issue that I was not happy with, was to overspeeding. Despite having an excellent experience of driving, the driver was drving over the speed limit and broke some traffic lights.

Thank you for your great serivice and I hope that you will consider the issues deeply

Yours faithfully

Sandeep

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you describe prompt service and the large truck, praise the driver for helping with loading and unloading, and raise concern about speeding and traffic lights. The praise is supported with a specific example, which makes the letter relevant and personal. However, some details are less fully developed: the positive points about the sunny weather and the employee’s appearance do not explain much about the company’s service, while the safety complaint could be clearer about what outcome you expect from the company. To strengthen the response, focus more on service-related evidence and briefly request that the company investigate or address the driver’s conduct. The purpose remains clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement, with separate paragraphs for the service, the employee, and the problem. Sequencing phrases such as “Secondly,” “In the end,” and “Furthermore” help the reader follow the points, and the closing is appropriate. Some linking is mechanical, however, and a few connections are unclear. For example, “There was an issue that I was not happy with, was to overspeeding” does not smoothly introduce the complaint, while “Although his job was just to drive…” creates a contrast that is understandable but awkwardly connected. Use simpler transitions where they fit, and make each paragraph’s main point explicit. This would make the progression more natural and the relationships between ideas clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “load and unload,” “speed limit,” and “valuable time.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “effective way of communication,” though this phrasing is not natural in context. Several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “best service of removing,” “my all luggage,” “overspeeding,” and “serivice” are examples. “Dressing sense” is also not especially relevant to praising a removal employee’s work. Aim for natural service-related collocations and check spelling carefully. A more precise range would help you express both the positive feedback and the safety concern without relying on awkward or inaccurate phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional clause in “problems that I could have from bad weather” and a concessive structure beginning “Although.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors make sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “As I booked the service, the company provided it so soon as possible” has an unclear time relationship, and “There was an issue that I was not happy with, was to…” contains a faulty sentence structure. There are also errors in articles, possessives, and verb forms, as in “my all luggage” and “until work was not finished.” Practise forming clear complaint sentences and checking clause structure, while retaining your attempts at complex forms.
