Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear manager,
I am writing a letter to removal company for the feedback about the service. Last week I moved my house from 186 street to 168 street. There are two much heavy luggage wich is not possible to moved from one place to another. My friend recommended me to choose the removal company.
There is one employee whose name is Jot. He was not only kind but also helpful. His nature is very good and he moved the most of stuff by alone. One thing is more interesting, He moved stuff carefully and keep in mind fragile things like kitchen crockery.
I am unsatisfied with one service that is the vehicle is too short and less spacious. I faced difficulty when I moved furniture in it. Employee also waste half an hour to moved furniture like sofa as well as table in the vehicle.
I appreciated all other services and especially thanks to Jot who helped a lot during moving the house stuff.
Yours faithfully,
Qwerty

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you describe the move, praise Jot’s careful and helpful work, and explain that the vehicle was too small. The specific example of handling fragile crockery helps make your praise relevant, and the complaint about the sofa and table gives the reader a clear sense of the problem. This covers the task well, with some detail already supporting your points. However, the account of what went well on moving day is less developed than the praise and complaint, and the opening gives background about the streets and your friend’s recommendation rather than explaining the successful parts of the service. Add one or two concrete details about punctuality, organisation, or how the team handled your belongings to make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally clear sequence: you introduce the move, describe Jot’s contribution, raise the problem with the vehicle, and close with thanks. Paragraphing helps separate the praise from the complaint, and phrases such as “not only…but also” and “especially” connect related ideas. At times, however, the progression is less smooth: the opening moves from the move itself to the amount of luggage and then to your friend’s recommendation, which does not directly advance the feedback. Some references, such as “one service,” are also vague. Organise the opening around the service on moving day and use clearer links between the company’s positive performance and the specific shortcoming.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “fragile,” “crockery,” “spacious,” and “furniture.” These choices show an attempt to be specific, particularly when describing Jot’s care and the vehicle problem. However, several noticeable word-choice and collocation errors make parts of the letter less natural, such as “heavy luggage” for household belongings, “moved the most of stuff,” and “vehicle is too short.” “Stuff” is also repeated and is informal for a business letter. Choose more precise expressions such as “household belongings,” “most of the items,” and “the vehicle was too small,” and vary your vocabulary for the possessions being moved.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some sentence variety, including the paired structure “not only kind but also helpful” and a sentence explaining how Jot handled fragile items. The main message remains understandable, but grammatical errors occur across several sentence patterns. Examples include “not possible to moved,” “he moved the most of stuff by alone,” and “Employee also waste half an hour to moved furniture,” where verb forms, articles, and sentence construction need attention. There are also inconsistent capitalisation choices, as in “He” after a comma. Practise forming past-tense descriptions consistently and checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb; for example, “He spent half an hour loading the sofa and table.”
