Student answer (Band 7.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to give you my feedback regarding your services, which I have recently availed for shifting my apartment.
I really want to appreciate your company for having such a trained staff, who made sure that all of my fragile items were carefully transferred without any breakages. Moreover, they were delivered to my new apartment in time.
I specially want to praise your manager, Miss Amna for her extremely professional conduct. She has been very accomodating throughout the process of shifting. She maintains a good correspondence, and she patiently responded to all my queries.
Although I am extremely satisfied with your service, I just want to highlight one important issue which needs improvement. The coordination among your team members was not very good. As a result, some of the labourers came late to my apartment on the day of shifting and told that they had not been informed of the schedule earlier. I would really appreciate if you could look into this matter.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Sara

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 8.0
The letter covers all three requested points clearly and appropriately. You explain what went well with the careful handling of fragile items and timely delivery, praise Miss Amna with specific examples of her professionalism and responsiveness, and identify poor team coordination as the problem. The late arrival and workers’ explanation make the complaint concrete, while the request to look into it gives the letter a useful purpose. These details develop the main ideas well and maintain a suitable formal tone. To make the response even more complete, you could briefly state the practical effect of the delay on your move, but this is only a minor opportunity to add detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5
The information is arranged in a clear, logical sequence: opening purpose, positive feedback, praise for an employee, then the concern and closing. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish each function of the letter, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Although,” and “As a result” make the relationships between ideas clear. The progression is easy to follow throughout. Some transitions are a little formulaic, and the shift from praising the company to raising a concern could be made more natural. For stronger cohesion, you could connect the late arrival directly to the effect on the moving process and vary the linking language rather than relying mainly on explicit connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a formal feedback letter, including “fragile items,” “professional conduct,” “accommodating,” and “coordination.” These choices communicate the situation clearly, and the tone is generally appropriate. However, some expressions are less natural or precise: “availed for shifting my apartment” and “delivered to my new apartment in time” sound awkward in this context, while “trained staff” is less specific than the praise that follows. There are also spelling and word-form issues, notably “specially” where “especially” is intended and “accomodating.” More natural collocations and careful proofreading would make the vocabulary more flexible and accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 7.5
The letter shows a useful mix of sentence forms, including a relative clause (“which I have recently availed”), a contrast clause beginning “Although,” and a result clause introduced by “As a result.” Many sentences are accurate and easy to understand, and punctuation generally supports the meaning. A few grammatical issues remain. In “told that they had not been informed,” the construction needs an object or a different verb pattern, such as “said that they had not been informed.” The phrase “I would really appreciate if” also needs “it” after “appreciate.” These errors do not obstruct communication, but correcting such patterns would strengthen the already good control of complex sentences.
