Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear sir,
I am writing this letter to inform about your company Brills Private Limited and i really face detrimental experience with company services which they provided but some employee are benefical for me to move my many things to new apartment.
I moved my house at last saturday. I called to company a week ago before shifting to new apartment and book my slot on a day saturday. I give a full address of my old house and also inform to company about distance to my new apartment from old house.
I totally satisfied only with one employee which is doing work quickly or sharply and they doing on time and not taking much time. There nature is very good.
The company give me three employees and two of that not pick my precious things carefully and I inform him to take it carely but they not listen my words.
I hope you take a quick action.
yours faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You cover the main requested points: you describe the booking and move, identify one employee as helpful, and complain that two others handled your belongings carelessly. However, the positive account of what went well is limited, and the helpful employee is not identified or described specifically beyond working quickly and being on time. The complaint is also brief, with little detail about what happened to the possessions or what response you expect. The opening says you had a “detrimental experience,” which makes your overall position sound more negative than the later praise suggests. Develop each point with clear, relevant details and state your overall evaluation consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable sequence: an opening, details about arranging the move, praise, a complaint, and a closing. Separate paragraphs help distinguish these points. However, progression between ideas is not always clear, and the first paragraph combines the purpose of the letter with a broad negative judgement and praise. Connections such as “I moved my house at last saturday” do not clearly lead into the booking details, while “I totally satisfied only with one employee” makes the relationship between your satisfaction and the employee’s work difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and linking phrases to show how the service was successful in some respects but disappointing in others. A more consistent paragraph structure would make the letter easier to read.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “new apartment,” “precious things,” and “take it carefully,” so the reader can identify the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. For example, “detrimental experience” is an awkward way to describe poor service, “book my slot” is less natural than “book a moving date,” and “benefical” is misspelled. “There nature” also appears to mean “their attitude.” Aim for precise, natural phrases for moving services and handling belongings, and check spelling and word forms. This would help you express both praise and criticism more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your writing relies mainly on short, simple statements, with limited control of more complex sentence forms. Errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “I called to company … and book my slot” shifts tense and omits an article, while “The company give me three employees” uses the wrong verb form. In “some employee are benefical,” the singular noun does not agree with the verb, and “they not listen my words” lacks an auxiliary and a suitable grammatical pattern. These errors can make parts of the letter difficult to understand. Practise accurate past-tense sentences and basic subject–verb agreement before attempting longer structures.
