Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to share my feedback about the recent service, which was provided by your organisation. Firstly, I would appreciate the professionalism and communication. In addition, whenever I tried to call I have got positive response from your side. Even the team finished all the tasks within the period of two hours. Although being a single person it was an uphill task for me, your team made my day by helping in such complicated task.

I really praise the worker Mr. Smith who worked hard to aid us in moving. Moreover, he is an exprienced and skillful worker as he knows the techniques of heavy lifting.

Despite everything priaseable, the company needs to comply with some basic safety procedures such as providing some safety eqipments like safety shoes, vest and hats where applicable.

Finally I want to give you five star rating for your work.

Yours faithfully,

Nijhil.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you describe the team’s communication and completing the move within two hours, praise Mr Smith’s help with heavy lifting, and identify the lack of safety equipment as a concern. The positive tone is clear, and the five-star rating reinforces your overall satisfaction. This meets the task well, but the points are not equally developed: the safety concern is brief, and it is unclear whether equipment was actually missing or whether you are recommending that it be provided. The praise could also include a specific example of how Mr Smith helped. Clarifying these details and adding a little supporting information would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear progression from general feedback, to praise for an employee, to a concern, and finally to an overall rating. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these functions, while linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” and “Despite everything” guide the reader through the points. The message is easy to follow overall. However, several transitions feel formulaic, and the relationship between the positive comments and the safety criticism could be made smoother. For example, “Despite everything praiseworthy” signals contrast, but the concern would be clearer if introduced as a specific area for improvement. More natural transitions and tighter links between related details would make the organisation feel more flexible.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a feedback letter, including “professionalism,” “uphill task,” “complicated task,” and “safety procedures.” These choices communicate your meaning and show some willingness to use less common expressions. However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “positive response from your side,” “five star rating for your work,” and “safety equipments.” There are also spelling errors, including “exprienced,” “priaseable,” and “eqipments,” which reduce the overall accuracy. Aim for natural service-related phrases and check spelling carefully; this will help your vocabulary sound more precise and professional without changing the clear message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “Although” and “Despite.” Most sentences remain understandable, and the grammatical issues do not prevent the reader from following your feedback. Some errors are present, however. In “whenever I tried to call I have got,” the past-time context calls for consistent tense, such as “I received.” “Although being a single person” is an incomplete construction; “Although I was moving alone” would be clearer. The sentence beginning “Despite everything praiseworthy” also needs a more complete grammatical structure. Review tense consistency, clause formation, and punctuation around introductory clauses to improve accuracy.
