Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I am writing this email regarding the feedback of using your Dash Express to remove my apartment furniture to the new location.

As I planned to take my things to another location. I booked the slot of September 12th the express arrive on time as they promise which was at 2:00pm. They wrapped all the items including the smaller kitchen equipment in a box which was my main concern. I feel very relax and convenient since they pack the stuff properly and handle with great care.

Above all this , I would like to mention of Simon, who help me with everything. He carried all the bedroom furniture with the help of trolleys so that there will be no scratch on the furniture. He was indeed a very calm and understandable person.

I was not happy with one particular thing that was the convenience fee they charge me for using the express for twice while moving the items.

I am glad your company provided me a big help. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours Sincerely,

Venice Ved

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: the arrival time and careful packing explain what went well, Simon is praised for moving the bedroom furniture carefully, and you identify an extra charge you disliked. These details make the letter relevant and give the reader a clear overall impression. The positive aspects are more fully described than the complaint, which is difficult to interpret: “the convenience fee they charge me for using the express for twice” does not make clear what the fee covered or why it was charged twice. The praise of Simon is also somewhat general beyond his use of trolleys. Clarifying the charge and adding a specific example of his helpfulness would make the response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: you describe the moving day, then focus on Simon, and finally mention the problem before closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, and expressions such as “Above all this” signal a shift to the employee. However, some links feel mechanical or unclear. “As I planned to take my things to another location” repeats the purpose of the letter rather than smoothly introducing the booking, while “Above all this” is not a natural transition to praise. The complaint also appears abruptly, and its wording makes the connection between the fee and the service hard to follow. Use more direct transitions and make each paragraph’s relationship to the previous one clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a service-feedback letter, including “wrapped,” “handle with great care,” “trolleys,” and “convenience fee.” These choices help convey the main events and your reaction. There are also attempts at more specific language, but some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “remove my apartment furniture,” “feel very relax and convenient,” and “calm and understandable person.” The phrase about being charged “for using the express for twice” is particularly unclear. Choose expressions that fit the context more precisely, such as “move my furniture,” “felt reassured,” and “understanding.” This would improve naturalness and precision while retaining the useful range already shown.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the reader can generally follow the sequence of events. However, some errors in sentence boundaries, verb forms, articles, and agreement reduce accuracy. For example, “As I planned to take my things to another location. I booked the slot” is an incomplete opening clause followed by a separate sentence; these ideas should be joined. In “the express arrive on time as they promise,” the verbs need past-tense forms, and “who help me” should be “who helped me.” There are also agreement and structure problems in “so that there will be no scratch.” Review past-tense consistency and check that dependent clauses are attached to complete sentences.
