Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I want to express my views for services I took from your company for moving our furnitire and possesssions to new apartment last week.
The team reached to my place on time and was well equipment with tools and packing materials. Most of the guys knows their work and dismantle furniture in a professional way and packed all households in a timely manner. I must admire Mr. Ali, he was very active and arrange the things and giving instructions to the other team memeber to carry all things with care to avoid any damanges.
However, there was one unpleasant event happened at my new flat while they were assembling the furniture. One team member i felt was new in your team and due to his negligence my bed brokes from back. i admire your efforts, though i need compensation for my damage.
Therefore i request you to either pay for the damages or provide an alternative bed with same quality. As it causes a really uncomfort in my home.
I am looking forwar your support to take an immediate action on this to resolve it.
Yours faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: the move went well because the team arrived on time and packed efficiently, you praise Mr Ali for coordinating the workers, and you explain that the bed was damaged and request compensation or a replacement. The purpose is clear and the complaint is relevant. The positive account is more developed than the damage issue, which is described briefly; for example, you could explain how the broken bed affected you or specify when you noticed the damage. The request for a remedy is clear, but the letter would be more complete if you stated what outcome you prefer and gave a reasonable timeframe for a response. These details would make the ideas more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: opening feedback, praise for the moving team, a complaint, and a request for action. Paragraphing helps distinguish the positive experience from the problem, and linking words such as “However” and “Therefore” guide the reader through the change in tone. Some connections are less smooth, particularly “As it causes a really uncomfort in my home,” which is a fragment and does not connect clearly to the preceding request. The final sentence also repeats the request for action without adding much new information. To strengthen progression, combine related points into complete sentences and make the relationship between the damage, its impact, and your requested remedy explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for a removal-service letter, including “packing materials,” “dismantle furniture,” “assembling the furniture,” and “compensation.” These choices make the situation understandable, and “negligence” shows an attempt to express the cause of the damage precisely. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “furnitire,” “possesssions,” “damanges,” and “looking forwar.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “express my views for services” and “a really uncomfort.” Use conventional collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, “give feedback on the service” and “cause considerable inconvenience” would sound more natural and precise. This would broaden and improve control of your vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “However” and the reason clause beginning “due to his negligence.” The main message remains understandable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction make parts of the letter less controlled. Examples include “Most of the guys knows,” “he was very active and arrange,” and “my bed brokes”; these need consistent subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms. “The team reached to my place” also has an incorrect grammatical pattern, while “As it causes…” is an incomplete sentence. Review past-tense narration and build complete sentences, especially when adding explanations. More accurate control of these structures would make the letter easier to read.
