Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three requested points: you describe careful handling and intact belongings, praise Smith’s contribution, and explain your dissatisfaction with the coffee spill and request a discount. These details make the purpose clear and give the reader a specific account of the service. The praise is strongest where you mention Smith checking that the other employees worked well, while the complaint could be developed further by stating whether the sofa was cleaned or what remedy you would prefer. The rating at the end also reinforces your overall view. To make the response more fully developed, explain the impact of the spill and make the requested compensation more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: opening purpose, positive aspects, praise for an employee, a complaint, and a closing evaluation. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and expressions such as “Specifically” and “Although” signal shifts in focus. This gives the response a coherent structure. However, some links are awkward or do not express the intended relationship clearly, particularly “Although, every thing went well” before introducing a problem. The ideas within the praise paragraph also feel loosely connected, with “and so on” weakening the progression. Use transitions that accurately show contrast, and connect each detail to the main point of the paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “fragile,” “unpacked,” “inconvenience,” and “discount,” and the reader can understand the main points. There are also attempts at more specific description, such as identifying the mirror as expensive and fragile. However, spelling errors and unnatural word combinations are noticeable: “aprtment,” “frendely,” “excpensive,” and “make a mess on my sofa” reduce accuracy and polish. Phrases such as “finished all tasks speedy with quality” and “4.5 out of 5 star rating” are not idiomatic. Build a bank of natural collocations for service feedback, and proofread spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response attempts both simple sentences and more complex structures, including a reason clause (“as it was…”) and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The intended meaning is generally recoverable, but control of verb forms and sentence construction is inconsistent. For example, “who has been perform” and “He make sure” use incorrect verb forms, while “They made a mess on my sofa has one employee spill a coffee on it” combines clauses without a workable grammatical structure. Articles and sentence punctuation also need attention. Practise forming past-tense accounts of completed events and checking that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb; this will make your varied sentence attempts more accurate.
