Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear Sir,
I hoped you well. I recently booked you to remove the furniture to my new apartment. I was receiving this So, you wanted feedback about your work and services.
I was very happing because that day, I got received my bonus and raise in salary. I thinker that day very good for me and my family was very happy because of that.
I acknowledged your one employee, who was very helping me towards my move the furniture because he was doing his job very effective and interestingly. The employee had completed it master's in designing. That employee knows where to fit the furniture accordingly to the room design.
I was not liking you specially one service that your employee not show on time but arrived 3 hours late and that I didn't like. Basically, you should improve your management and team So, they arrive always on time and make sure you didn't angry on that and give them proper consulting.
Yours sincerely,
Peter

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the three requested points: you describe the move, praise an employee for arranging furniture to suit the room design, and complain that a worker arrived three hours late. These details make the letter relevant, and the employee’s design knowledge is a useful specific point. However, the positive account focuses mainly on your bonus and your family’s happiness, rather than explaining what went well in the company’s service. The praise and complaint are also not fully clear: for example, it is difficult to tell whether the praised employee was the person who arrived late. Develop the service-related details and make the relationship between these points explicit so the feedback fully answers the request.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The letter has a recognisable sequence, moving from an introduction to positive comments, praise, a complaint, and a closing. Separate paragraphs help distinguish the main points. However, progression is uneven: the paragraph about receiving a bonus interrupts the account of the removal service, and the opening contains several ideas joined awkwardly, such as “I was receiving this So, you wanted feedback.” Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear, particularly whether the late arrival concerns the employee praised earlier. Some linking words, including “So” and “because,” are used mechanically. Organise the letter around the three requested points and use clear references and transitions to show how each detail relates to the service.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “remove the furniture,” “room design,” “management,” and “arrived 3 hours late,” so the reader can identify the main feedback. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “I was very happing,” “I acknowledged your one employee,” and “very helping me.” Phrases such as “doing his job very effective and interestingly” also do not express the intended praise naturally. Aim for precise service-related expressions and check word forms and collocations. This would make your positive comments and criticism clearer and more appropriate for a formal letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “I was not liking you specially one service that your employee not show on time but arrived 3 hours late.” This shows an effort to explain and qualify your points, but complex attempts are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. Verb forms and tense are inconsistent (“I hoped you well,” “I got received”), and clauses are missing necessary grammatical elements, as in “your employee not show on time.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, especially where “So” joins ideas. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses.
