Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to give my feedback regarding your cooperation.

First of all, I am fully satisfied the service that you provided me as it was very hard for me to move to a new buildling especially in the fifth floor at 5'o clock as after that I went to a urgent metting. And I was in stressed about removal company came on time or not as last time I booked another company and it was late roughly 1 hour; however your company worker came on time.

Moreover, if I am talking about your coworker they were good as they not only helped me in order to shift my heavy furniture in the top level but also in careful way according to my instructions.

Besides this, there was one worker who did smoking in the front of building that was not good habit as in the building premis its mentioned clearly that smoling is prohibited in this area. This matter requires you immediate attention.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: you describe the company arriving on time, praise the workers’ help with moving heavy furniture, and raise a concern about an employee smoking near the building. The complaint is specific and explains why the behaviour was inappropriate, while the opening and closing make the purpose of the letter clear. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The praise is general, and the particularly helpful employee is not identified or described in enough detail to show what made their contribution stand out. The account of the moving day is also crowded into one long explanation. Add a concrete example of the employee’s help and clarify the sequence of events to make the feedback more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall shape, with an opening, separate paragraphs for positive feedback and the complaint, and an appropriate closing. Linking expressions such as “First of all,” “Moreover,” and “Besides this” help signal the progression of points, and the reader can follow the main message. This organisation is effective, though some transitions feel mechanical, and the first paragraph combines several ideas—your stress, the previous company’s lateness, the appointment, and the new company’s punctuality—in one extended sentence. The reference to “your coworker” also shifts to “they,” making it less clear whether you mean one employee or the team. Use shorter, more focused sentences and refer consistently to the individual employee to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “heavy furniture,” “on time,” and “immediate attention.” However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the letter sound less natural and occasionally require the reader to interpret your meaning. For example, “give my feedback regarding your cooperation” is not the usual way to describe a removal service, and “in the fifth floor” is an inaccurate phrase. There are also spelling errors such as “buildling,” “metting,” and “smoling.” Aim for more precise service-related expressions and check spelling carefully. A wider range of natural phrases would help you express praise and criticism more clearly and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “however” and a paired structure with “not only … but also.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in these longer constructions. For example, “I am fully satisfied the service” is missing a required preposition, and “they not only helped me … but also in careful way” does not maintain a parallel grammatical structure. The opening paragraph also joins several clauses in a way that makes the sentence difficult to control. There are issues with articles and prepositions, as in “a urgent” and “in the fifth floor.” Break up long sentences and check verb patterns, articles, and parallel structures to improve accuracy.
