Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Manager,
I am writing to share my feedback on the services that I used to move my furniture on 2nd of June to my new place.
Firstly,I liked the way your team was taking care of my goods. I was happy that I got all of my expensive chairs well packed and without any crack. Once everything was moved out, this company also helped me to clean up the mess and leave the house cleaner for next tenent.
Furthermore, I would to like to appriciate guy named Jass who was very polite and helpfull toward me and his team. I would like to request you to give him a bonus or gift for the hard work.
Lastly, there was minor issue that i had to face was small delay due to flat tire in your moving truck. I had to wait an extra hour to get my furniture.
Yours faithfully,
Jagpal Singh.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requested points: you describe careful packing and the team’s help with cleaning, praise Jass by name, and explain that a flat tyre caused a delay. The positive and negative feedback is clear, and the request to reward the employee adds a relevant detail. The main ideas are supported with specific information, such as the chairs arriving without damage and the extra hour of waiting. To make the response more fully developed, explain a little more about the impact of the delay or how the company could improve its response. Also use the required opening, “Dear Sir or Madam,” rather than “Dear Manager,” to follow the task’s instructions precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression from the overall purpose to positive feedback, praise for an employee, and the service problem. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, while “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “Lastly” make the sequence easy to follow. The closing is also appropriate for a formal letter. However, the linking words create a somewhat formulaic list, and the transition from the employee’s helpfulness to the request for a bonus could be smoother. Aim to connect ideas more naturally—for example, explain how Jass’s politeness and support contributed to the successful move. Check punctuation around transitions, such as the missing space after “Firstly,” so the presentation is consistently clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main details, including “well packed,” “flat tire,” and “extra hour,” and the reader can understand the feedback. However, the range is limited and some choices or spellings are inaccurate, which reduces precision and naturalness. For example, “goods” is less suitable than “belongings” in this context, and “clean up the mess” sounds informal for a formal feedback letter. There are also spelling errors in “appriciate,” “helpfull,” and “tenent.” Choose more precise service-related expressions and proofread spelling; this would make the letter sound more fluent and professional without changing its clear message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple sentences and longer structures, and the meaning remains clear throughout. The sentence explaining that the team helped clean after the move shows an attempt to connect related actions, while the delay is expressed in a straightforward way. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “I would to like to appriciate,” the word order should be “I would like to appreciate”; “there was minor issue that i had to face was” needs restructuring, such as “The minor issue I faced was…”; and “on 2nd of June” needs an article or a more natural date construction. Capitalise “I” consistently and check sentence punctuation to improve accuracy.
