Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I hope you are doing well. I am satisified with the service of your company and happy to share my expirence with you. There are so many people were working on the day the stuff was moved from old house to new home and that was shocking to me because they completed the work very fast and effectively.
Although, all of the staff was very friendly and working hard, Thomas is best all of them because he makes sure the safety of every worker and even protect the two employees from injury also. He is expert in his work and very humbe human being.
Eventually, the problem that i had to face is conversation. Only two person know english while all the other one speak their native language which makes me very hard for me to give them instructuion about the stuff. Because of the language barrier they misunderstand sometimes and even broke one of the lamp also.
Best Regards,
Phillip Josh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you describe the move as fast and effective, praise Thomas for protecting staff, and explain that the language barrier caused difficulty and a lamp was broken. These details make the letter relevant and give the company useful feedback. The praise of Thomas is the strongest part because you explain what he did, while the description of what went well is less developed: saying there were many workers and the job was quick could be supported with a specific example of careful or efficient handling. The complaint is clear, but you could state more directly what response or improvement you would like from the company. This covers the task well overall, with some ideas needing fuller development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: an opening comment, positive feedback, praise for an employee, and then a complaint. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and expressions such as “Although” and “Because of” show relationships between ideas. However, some links are awkward or do not express the intended relationship clearly. For example, “Although, all of the staff…” does not need a comma after “Although,” and “Eventually” is not a natural transition into the complaint. The first paragraph also combines several ideas in one long sentence, making the progression less smooth. Use straightforward transitions such as “However” for the complaint and keep each paragraph focused on one purpose to make the organisation more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “language barrier,” “safety,” “injury,” and “instructuion” (intended as “instructions”), and the reader can understand the main points. There are also attempts at more specific description, such as “completed the work very fast and effectively.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “satisified,” “expirence,” “humbe,” and “stuff,” which is informal and imprecise in this context. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “best all of them” and “conversation” when you mean communication. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise terms such as “belongings” and “communicate instructions” would make the letter sound more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “Although” and a reason clause with “Because.” This gives the letter some structural variety, but control is inconsistent and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “There are so many people were working” combines incompatible verb structures; “all of the staff was” has an agreement problem; and “he makes sure … and even protect” shifts verb form. The sentence beginning “Only two person know English” also has errors in number and sentence construction. Practise forming clauses with one clear main verb, maintaining agreement and tense, and checking punctuation. These changes would make your meaning easier to process while preserving your attempts at complex sentences.
