Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my thoughts on given moving service. The whole process was well-organised, particularly the packaging was the best part of it, which prevent wear and tear while delivering the household items. This allows to stay stress free from any kind of uncertainity.
I would be grateful to mention about Mohit who is a senior supervisor, he is not only polite but also professional. We saw each items labelled properly by him before they left the old house. All the list of items and location clrearly mentioned in the given document. His dedication and hardwork made the process smooth and fast.
I quite dissappointed with the service given by customer service, the payment got deducted before they shipped all the items. We did not recieved any phone calls and cinfirmation about the payment, which caused me a bounce cheque. On the next day, we visited the nearby branch to resolve this issue. I hope this issue would resolve in the near future.
I really thankful to you for your service.
Yours faithfully,
Gurdeep Singh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requested points and maintains an appropriate formal tone. You describe the well-organised move and explain that careful packaging protected the household items; you also identify Mohit and support your praise with details about his politeness, professionalism, and labelling. The complaint about the payment being deducted before delivery is relevant and explains the inconvenience. These details make the response clear and supported. To make the ideas more fully developed, clarify the payment problem and its outcome: “which caused me a bounce cheque” is difficult to interpret, and the final hope that the issue will be resolved does not say whether the branch helped. A more precise account would strengthen an otherwise complete response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear, sensible sequence: overall feedback, praise for an employee, a complaint, and a closing. Separate paragraphs help the reader identify each part of the letter, and linking expressions such as “particularly,” “not only…but also,” and “On the next day” support progression. The main weakness is that some connections within sentences are awkward or unclear. For example, “I quite dissappointed with the service given by customer service” moves directly into the payment issue without a clear grammatical link, while “which caused me a bounce cheque” makes the relationship between the deduction and the consequence hard to follow. Use complete sentences and make cause-and-effect links explicit. Overall, the organisation is logical, though cohesion is not consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a formal service-feedback letter, including “well-organised,” “wear and tear,” “professional,” “dedication,” and “resolve.” These choices communicate the main points and show some willingness to use less common expressions. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “given moving service” is unnatural, “uncertainity” is misspelled, and “a bounce cheque” does not clearly express the intended consequence. “Packaging” may also be less precise than “packing” in this context. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling carefully; more accurate phrasing would make the positive feedback and complaint sound more fluent and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter attempts a mix of simple and more complex structures, including “not only polite but also professional” and a relative clause beginning “which.” The intended meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “which prevent wear and tear” needs a past-tense verb to match the account of the move, and “This allows to stay stress free” lacks a clear subject and requires a different verb pattern. There are also missing or incorrect forms in “I quite dissappointed” and “I really thankful,” where a form of “be” is needed. Review verb tense, sentence completeness, and agreement, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries. Greater control of these patterns would make the message easier to read.
