Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I hope this letter finds you well. I recently shifted to The King Street on 10 October 2026 for which I considered your team of professional movers. I was hoping that It will take at least two days to move all my furniture and possessions to the new housed due to larger size and number of items but thanks your team members especilly David I finished my moving within 6 hours.
I must admit David was extreamly supportive and professional throught the whole process. He handled things carefully and also helped me to organize the heavy furniture.
I am greatly impressed by your moving services except the expensive charges of your service $60/ hour is too expensive for this service. It could be great if you offer reasonable prices to the customers. I would definately recommend your company to my friends and family members. I really appreciate your support and assitance throughout my moving process.
Kind regards,
Pooja Mehra

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requested points: the move was completed quickly, David is praised for being supportive and careful, and the hourly charge is identified as a concern. The contrast between expecting the move to take two days and finishing in six hours gives the positive feedback a clear, relevant example. You also make your overall view clear by saying you would recommend the company. To strengthen the response further, develop the complaint with a little more explanation—for example, why the rate seemed high in relation to the service or what pricing you would consider reasonable. The praise is specific, but one additional example of David’s helpful actions would make that point more fully supported. The letter remains focused on the task throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: you introduce the move, describe the successful service and David’s contribution, then raise the cost concern and close positively. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main points, and linking expressions such as “but” and “except” make the contrast between praise and criticism easy to follow. The ideas are generally connected logically, so the reader can understand your overall evaluation without difficulty. To make the organisation more polished, separate the account of the move from the paragraph praising David, and use a clearer transition before introducing the complaint. The final sentences repeat appreciation and recommendation; a more concise closing would give the letter a smoother finish.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a customer-feedback letter, including “professional movers,” “handled things carefully,” “expensive charges,” and “recommend your company.” These choices communicate the main points clearly, and “supportive” and “professional” help convey your positive view of David. There are, however, several spelling errors, including “especilly,” “extreamly,” “throught,” “definately,” and “assitance,” as well as some awkward phrasing such as “new housed” and “moving services.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and choose more idiomatic expressions, such as “move into my new apartment” and “the hourly rate was too high.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “I was hoping … but thanks your team members … I finished my moving within 6 hours.” The main message is understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “I was hoping that It will take” has an inconsistent tense, and “thanks your team members” needs a grammatical construction such as “thanks to your team members.” The long opening sentence also joins several ideas in a way that makes it difficult to control the structure. There are errors with articles and sentence boundaries, including “the new housed.” Use shorter sentences where needed, and check tense consistency and prepositions when revising.
