Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir,
I recently used the assistance of your company in moving my things and home essentials to a new apartment. I want to give my feedback by stating that when, I moved here at this place the atmosphere here is very ambient. Moreover, the place is quiet calming, peaceful and neat that impressed me a lot. Also the spectacular scenery here inspired me. One of your employee really helped me by guiding me throughout the places here. He managed to handle my situation wonderfully by taking care of my breakable materials and things. He also suggest me some good places to eat at initially because there is no gas and stove here. However, he mentioned how I can use cheaper convenient transport here.
Overall, one accommodation that disappoints me lot by your company is that they are not punctual or they do not reach on time at place which cause me a lot of distress because of my house honor already had the new family arrived and I have to leave the place and wait outside the house which made me troubled.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main points by describing the employee’s care with fragile belongings and noting that the company arrived late. However, the positive account focuses largely on the new apartment’s atmosphere and scenery rather than what went well in the moving service itself. The employee is praised, but the description is not fully clear: “guiding me throughout the places here” does not explain precisely how he helped with the move. The complaint about punctuality is relevant and gives a consequence, though the wording makes the situation difficult to follow. To strengthen the response, focus each point on the company’s service and explain the helpful employee’s actions and the delay more clearly. A suitable formal opening would also follow the requested “Dear Sir or Madam,” exactly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter contains a recognisable sequence: an introduction, positive comments about the employee, and a final complaint introduced by “However” and “Overall.” These markers help the reader identify a change in focus. Nevertheless, the progression is not consistently clear because several sentences about the apartment’s peaceful atmosphere and scenery interrupt the account of the removal service. Some connections are also awkward: “Moreover” and “Also” link ideas that do not develop the moving-day experience, while the final sentence combines the delay, the new family’s arrival, and having to wait outside without clear relationships between them. Organise the letter into clear paragraphs for the service’s successes, the employee’s contribution, and the problem, and use simpler links to show how each event relates.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of descriptive and evaluative vocabulary, including “spectacular scenery,” “breakable materials,” “punctual,” and “distress.” Some choices are appropriate, but several phrases are unnatural or imprecise for this context. “The assistance of your company” is less direct than “your removal service,” and “one accommodation that disappoints me” does not express a service complaint naturally. “House essentials” and “cheaper convenient transport” are also unclear or awkward combinations. These choices sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning, especially in the final sentence. Aim for precise collocations associated with moving services, such as “fragile items,” “arrived late,” and “caused considerable inconvenience,” and check that each word fits the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which made me troubled” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors sometimes obscure the relationships between ideas. For example, “when, I moved here at this place” has faulty punctuation and an awkward clause structure, while “one of your employee” has incorrect singular agreement. In “he also suggest me,” the verb form and sentence pattern are inaccurate; “he also suggested some places to me” would be clearer. The final sentence shifts between “they” and “I” and contains unclear clause connections. Use shorter sentences for the complaint, check subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and punctuate introductory clauses carefully.
