Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to give my feedback about your company, which I used for shifting my furniture and goods to my new apartment.
Everything went smoothly on the day of shifting, especially your time table and safety measures were worth praising. All my goods were shifted in a sound condition exactly at the given time.
One of the employees was "Amjad ", who was very hardworking and honest. He took care of my belongings efficiently and carefully so that not a single cup was broken. Additionally, his honesty was outstanding because not a single penny was misplaced
The only thing which has disappointed me is the booking of time for shifting. The receptionist behaviour is extremely disappointing and his response is very slow. I tried almost one week before for booking slot for shifting and it took me five days to finally confirm the booking.
I am looking forward to see additional improvement and thankful for your services to the community.
Yours sincerely,
Amjad

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requested points: you describe the move as smooth and on time, praise Amjad’s careful handling of your belongings, and explain the delay in confirming the booking. The positive and negative feedback is clear and relevant, and the example that no cup was broken helps support your praise. The booking complaint is also specific, with the five-day wait explaining why you were dissatisfied. To make the response more fully developed, clarify the impact of the booking delay—for example, whether it caused inconvenience or uncertainty—and state more directly what improvement you expect. The closing thanks the company, but the final sentence could express your feedback more precisely and professionally.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter follows a clear progression: purpose, positive aspects of the move, praise for an employee, a complaint, and a closing. This makes the main points easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Additionally” and “The only thing” help signal how the ideas relate. The paragraphing also separates the praise from the complaint. Some connections could be smoother: the shift from the employee’s honesty to the booking problem is abrupt, and the final sentence combines a request for improvement with thanks without clearly linking them. Use a separate closing sentence and make the transition into the complaint more natural to strengthen the overall flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the letter, including “safety measures,” “hardworking,” “carefully,” and “confirm the booking.” These choices communicate the main points, and the reader can understand both your praise and your complaint. However, some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “shifting my furniture and goods,” “in a sound condition,” and “booking of time for shifting.” “Receptionist behaviour” is also an imprecise way to describe the problem, since the main issue appears to be the slow booking response. Aim for more natural collocations and precise wording; this will make the feedback sound more fluent and professional without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the purpose clause “so that not a single cup was broken” and the sentence explaining how long booking confirmation took. Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation issues are present. For example, “I am looking forward to see” should be “I am looking forward to seeing,” and “The receptionist behaviour is extremely disappointing and his response is very slow” needs clearer sentence structure and punctuation. There are also inconsistent spaces around punctuation and quotation marks, as in “Amjad ”. Review verb patterns after expressions such as “look forward to,” and proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
