Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir or Madam

I would like to share my feedback about the services i got last week from your company to move my furniture to new apartment while shifting.

Firstly, I really liked the services i got that day as my furniture was extremely heavy and i had alot of it that needs to be moved on same day. The team was so organised, experienced and punctual. They helped in moving everthing very carefully . I was worried at first, because of my expensive furniture that what if it got any scratches while moving.

But one of your employee, Rahul. He assured me nothing will happen and took whole responsibilty as a team leader helped alot to shift the things without any damage. He went above and beyond. Only the main concern i want to highlight the time efficiency and resources. They only have one vehicle to move the furniture that was comparetively, smaller than what i was expecting based on the stuff I had and the charges I paid. It took alot of time to go back and forth and increased consumption of more labour and time. I would recommend introducing new vehicles to your business to grow.

Thankyou for your time and consideration.

Yours Sincerely,

Ashlay

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three points clearly: the team was organised and punctual, Rahul is praised for taking responsibility and preventing damage, and you explain your dissatisfaction with the single, relatively small vehicle. The concern is supported with a practical consequence—repeated trips increased the time and labour involved—and you offer a relevant suggestion. This gives the letter a clear purpose and develops its main ideas. To make the feedback more fully developed, explain briefly whether the extra trips caused a specific inconvenience, such as a delay in settling into the apartment, and clarify whether you are requesting a response or simply making a recommendation. The content is relevant and the reader can understand your overall evaluation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall progression: you introduce your feedback, describe what went well, praise Rahul, then raise the problem and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish the positive comments from the criticism, and transitions such as “Firstly” and “But” guide the reader. This is a coherent arrangement, with some effective progression. However, the long paragraph beginning “But one of your employee” combines Rahul’s praise, the service complaint, its consequences, and your recommendation, so the shift in focus is abrupt. “Only the main concern” also does not connect smoothly to the preceding praise. Separate the employee commendation from the complaint and use a clearer transition such as “However, one aspect I was less satisfied with was…”

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for a service-feedback letter, including relevant expressions such as “organised,” “punctual,” “above and beyond,” and “time efficiency.” These choices communicate both appreciation and dissatisfaction, and the meaning remains clear. There are, however, several spelling and word-choice errors, including “alot,” “everthing,” “responsibilty,” and “Thankyou.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural: “the services i got” and “increased consumption of more labour and time” do not express the ideas idiomatically. Aim for more precise collocations, such as “the service I received” and “required additional time and labour,” and check spelling and capitalization carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example the sentence explaining your initial worry about possible damage and the sentence describing the vehicle problem and its consequences. The main points are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors make parts less controlled. Examples include “furniture to new apartment” (missing an article), “that needs to be moved” (tense agreement with the past context), and “one of your employee” (singular/plural agreement). The sentence beginning “But one of your employee, Rahul” is also incomplete or awkwardly joined, while “I was worried at first, because of my expensive furniture that what if…” has an unclear clause structure. Practise building complete sentences and checking articles, agreement, and clause order.
