Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this to give you a feedback regarding the service. Overall, the moving process was really smooth and well-organized.
I booked the service with you for weekend and was not expecting that movers will be available but to my surprise my booking got confirm within an hour. On the moving day, removal team came prior to the scheduled time. Apart from this they helped me pack items that were fragile in a separate container. They were so professional and quick with there work.
I would like to particularly praise an employee whose name is ' Jyot '. He made all the moving hassle so stress-free. From packing to loading he took care of all the items and handled it with great care.
However, I am a bit unsatisfied with the unexpected charges that were not mentioned when I was booking. Hidden charges of $20 was deducted from my account after the delivery . I asked the team but they were also not aware about the charges and I believe customers are suppose to be aware of the amount that are not on the bill.
I hope you will consider my feedback and will look into the problem I faced.
Your Sincerely

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The letter addresses all three requested points and maintains a clear, appropriate purpose. You describe what went well with specific details, including the team arriving early and packing fragile items separately; you also identify Jyot and explain how he helped, then clearly raise the unexpected $20 charge. These details make the feedback relevant and sufficiently supported. The complaint is especially clear, although the explanation of the charge could be developed further by stating what resolution you would like, such as a refund or an explanation. The opening and closing are recognisable as a formal letter, but “Dear Sir,” does not follow the specified salutation, and “Your Sincerely” is not the conventional closing. More precise letter conventions would strengthen an otherwise complete response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information is organised in a clear progression: overall impression, positive details, praise for an employee, and then the complaint. Paragraphing helps distinguish these functions, and linking expressions such as “Apart from this” and “However” guide the reader through the contrast. The sequence within the positive account is also easy to follow. Some connections are less natural or precise: “Apart from this” does not clearly show how the packing relates to the team arriving early, and “I hope you will consider my feedback” provides a rather general ending after the specific charge issue. Use more exact links and make the final sentence connect directly to the action you want the company to take.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a service-feedback letter, including relevant terms such as “scheduled time,” “fragile,” “loading,” and “unexpected charges.” These choices communicate the events and complaint clearly. There are, however, some inaccurate or unnatural word choices and collocations: “give you a feedback” should be “give you feedback,” “moving hassle” is awkward, and “Hidden charges” may sound more accusatory than intended when describing a single fee. “There work” also contains a spelling error that affects lexical accuracy. Aim for more natural service-related phrasing and check word forms and spelling. For example, describe Jyot as making the move “stress-free” and refer to the fee as an “additional charge” unless you can establish that it was deliberately concealed.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter includes a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, such as the sentence beginning “I booked the service…” and the contrast introduced by “However.” Most meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur in articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. Examples include “for weekend” (for the weekend), “my booking got confirm” (was confirmed), “charges of $20 was deducted” (a charge of $20 was deducted), and “customers are suppose to be aware of the amount that are not on the bill.” The final example also has an unclear agreement pattern. Review subject–verb agreement and use consistent, accurate verb forms, especially in longer sentences. More reliable control of these structures would make the letter smoother and more professional.
