Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You address the general purpose by giving positive feedback about the booking staff and movers, and you mention that the furniture arrived without damage. However, the task asks for three specific points, and the response does not identify an employee who was particularly helpful or mention any aspect of the service you were unhappy with. Instead, you praise the whole team and give a five-out-of-five rating. The greeting also differs from the required “Dear Sir or Madam,” and the letter is 24 words below the stated minimum. To improve, include a named employee and a specific example of their help, then describe one service problem and its effect, while retaining your positive comments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it discusses booking, the staff’s manner, the movers’ work, and then gives an overall rating. This makes the main positive message understandable. However, the ideas are crowded into one paragraph, and the transitions between booking and moving day are not always clear. Phrases such as “Afterwards” provide some linking, but the letter would benefit from clearer paragraphing and more precise connections between events. The closing is present, though the sign-off and greeting do not fit the requested formal letter format. Organise the response into short paragraphs for the booking, moving day, and feedback, and use clear links such as “On moving day” and “However” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “book,” “receptionist,” “furniture,” “apartment,” and “rating.” These choices make the topic clear, and phrases such as “five out of five” communicate your satisfaction. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less polished, including “feed back,” “memebers,” “scrach,” and “entair.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “truck boys” and “nice peoples.” Aim for accurate, conventional phrases used in customer feedback, such as “removal team,” “careful handling,” and “the service provided.” Proofreading spelling and collocations would make your positive comments more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter communicates its main positive points, and you attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and several sentences are difficult to follow because of errors in clause structure, agreement, and punctuation. For example, “When i called to book my relocating … by the call i did book” repeats the booking idea without forming a clear sentence, while “Your receptionist are” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Afterwards the truck boys…” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Use shorter, complete sentences and check agreement and verb forms. For example: “The receptionist was polite and asked for the details needed to arrange the move.”
