You recently used a company to help you move your furniture and possessions to your new apartment. The removal company has now asked for your feedback about the service they provided.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir,

I hope you are doing well

I am writing this letter with regards to the feedback for the services your company provided me in moving my stuff to my new flat.

Firstly I want to thank you for helping me on the day of my moving. Since i was told to vacate the property by the end of friday's evening, your team showed up on the right time and was able to move my all belongings to my new apartment. Therefore, we would able to finish our moving before the scheduled time

I want to really thankful to you for sending Rahul in your team who was not only hardworking but also highly taking care as he was carrying all items with full care and placing them where they need to be. For example mirrors and glass tables which can easily brake, he was properly covering them with plastic and loading in the truck carefully for their safety

One thing I did not like is creating a mess while moving as your team was bringing all stuff out from rooms together rather than one by one, and they all were having different views in terms of item selection.

Hopefully, you will improve your services more that will help to attract more customers

yours faithfully

Manpreet Singh

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: the move was completed before the scheduled time, Rahul is praised for handling fragile items carefully, and you identify the mess caused by bringing belongings out together. These details make the feedback relevant and give the reader a clear sense of your experience. The praise is the most developed point, supported by the examples of mirrors and glass tables; the complaint is less clear, particularly the reference to the team having “different views in terms of item selection.” To strengthen the letter, explain more precisely what the mess involved and how it affected you. The tone is generally appropriate, though “Dear Sir” does not follow the requested opening, and a more polished closing would improve the formal presentation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter follows a sensible sequence: it introduces its purpose, describes the move, praises an employee, and then raises a concern. Paragraphing helps distinguish the main points, while transitions such as “Firstly,” “For example,” and “One thing I did not like” guide the reader through the account. The overall progression is clear, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Therefore” introduces the result of the team’s timely arrival, but the sentence structure makes the relationship awkward; the final complaint also combines the mess and differing views without explaining how they relate. Use clearer links between cause and result, and separate distinct concerns into complete, focused sentences. This would make cohesion more flexible and precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main events and feelings, including “hardworking,” “belongings,” and “carefully.” The examples of fragile furniture also make the praise specific. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “my stuff,” “on the right time,” “highly taking care,” and “creating a mess.” “Item selection” is also difficult to interpret in this context. These choices sometimes make the reader pause, even though the overall message remains understandable. Aim for more natural phrases suited to a formal feedback letter, and choose precise wording for the complaint. Checking common verb–noun combinations and spelling, including “break,” would improve accuracy and range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a time clause beginning “Since I was told…” and a relative clause describing Rahul. The main events are generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries remain noticeable. For example, “we would able to finish” needs a verb form such as “were able,” while “I want to really thankful” is missing a linking verb. In “your team showed up … and was able,” the subject–verb agreement is inconsistent, and “my all belongings” has an incorrect determiner order. Several sentences also run together, particularly after “apartment” and before “yours faithfully.” Practise accurate clause construction and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
