Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I want to provide the feedback regarding the moving services your company recently provided when relocating my belongings to my new apartment.

Firstly, i was very satisfied with the overall moving process. Your team member arrived on time, handled the situation promptly. Also i wants to highlight the efforts of Mohini who is manage the team at the site, she is very creative an in helping nature. Her managing and creative skills help us to optimize the time. Also because of her help all the belongings are well placed and they are easy to find.

However, i was slightly disappointed with the few boxes those are delivered late from the time mentioned on the handover sheet. Also the delivery boy from your team is not reachable at that time, so that is the point of concern for me. Apart from that every service is excellent.

Over all experience with your team service and your company are tremendous.

Your faithfully,

Nancy

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three required points and maintains a clear, appropriate purpose: you describe the move as satisfactory, praise Mohini’s contribution, and identify late delivery and difficulty contacting the driver as concerns. The praise is supported with details about her management and how she helped place the belongings, while the complaint is specific enough to understand. This gives the response clear coverage and some development of its ideas. To make the feedback more fully developed, explain the practical effect of the late boxes or indicate what response you would like from the company. The closing is also slightly inconsistent with the formal opening, so keep the register consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear progression: an opening purpose, positive feedback, a contrasting complaint, and a closing evaluation. Paragraphing separates the main points effectively, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “Apart from that” help the reader follow the shift in tone. The ideas are generally linked logically, including the connection between Mohini’s help and the efficient placement of belongings. Some linking is a little mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Also,” and the final sentence repeats the overall positive evaluation without adding much. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make the relationship between each detail explicit to create smoother progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a formal service-feedback letter, including “overall moving process,” “disappointed,” “handover sheet,” and “point of concern.” These choices make the main message clear, and the reader can understand both the praise and the complaint. However, some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “handled the situation promptly,” “creative an in helping nature,” and “Over all experience … are tremendous.” These weaken the naturalness and precision of the letter, even though they do not prevent understanding. Choose collocations that fit the context more closely—for example, describe the team as handling your belongings carefully and the experience as positive or excellent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main meaning remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect accuracy across the letter. Examples include “i wants to highlight,” “Mohini who is manage the team,” and “Her managing and creative skills help us,” where verb forms and agreement are not controlled. The sentence “Your team member arrived on time, handled the situation promptly” also needs a clearer grammatical connection between its clauses. Capitalise “I” consistently, and check subject–verb agreement, tense, and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these basic patterns, alongside the sentence variety already attempted, would make the writing clearer and more polished.
