Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to give feedback about the service that I received last week. I booked your company to help me for moving furniture to my new apartment. On that day, In the morning time I get started collecting things from my old house. We spent almost 7 hours to done the moving. In the evening time I felt very tired because this day was the busiest day of my life.
The employee name Johan was particularly helpful. He helped me alot to put things into my new apartment. Even he was talked with me as a friend. He was very hard working and energetic person. He was also organized, because he know how to putting and organizing things safely.
The company vehicle was not good. It creates a noise. Moreover, When I went to the office, the front desk receptionist talked with me in a very rude way which I do not like.
Yours Sincerely,
Sandy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you describe the move, praise Johan, and identify problems with both the vehicle and the receptionist. The praise is the most developed part, with details about his help and friendly manner. However, the account of what went well is less clear: “I get started collecting things” does not explain which parts of the moving service were successful, and the seven-hour duration is not itself a positive outcome. The complaint about the vehicle is also brief, while the receptionist issue concerns an office interaction rather than the moving day. To make the response more complete, give specific examples of efficient or careful service and explain the impact of the problems. The message is recognisably a formal feedback letter, though the salutation should match the requested opening.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the move, a paragraph praising Johan, and a final paragraph describing dissatisfaction. This makes the main points easy to locate, and connectors such as “Moreover” help signal an additional complaint. The progression within the first paragraph is less smooth, however: “On that day, In the morning time I get started…” moves awkwardly from the booking to the events, and the shift from the move to feeling tired does not clearly show what went well. Some links between ideas are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “He” in Johan’s paragraph. Use clearer time markers and connect each detail to the relevant point—for example, explain how Johan’s organisation made the move safer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main events and opinions, including “particularly helpful,” “hard working,” “energetic,” and “organized.” These choices convey your positive view of Johan, and “rude” clearly expresses dissatisfaction. However, several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, such as “help me for moving furniture,” “In the morning time,” and “It creates a noise.” “Collecting things” is also vague for describing a removal service. These word-choice and collocation issues make parts of the letter less fluent, although the reader can generally understand your meaning. Aim for more precise service-related expressions, such as describing items being packed, loaded, transported, or placed, and use natural phrases like “made a loud noise.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including “He was also organized, because…” and the sentence beginning “Moreover.” The basic message is usually understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction are frequent enough to limit accuracy. For example, “I get started” should use a past form, “We spent almost 7 hours to done” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “he know” does not agree with its subject. The construction “Even he was talked with me” is also faulty. Capitalisation and spacing need attention in “In the morning time” and “house.We.” Practise forming accurate past-tense sentences and use a reliable pattern such as “spent seven hours moving” rather than combining “spent” with an infinitive.
