Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays fashion driven world many individual are choosing to buy a large number of clothing which they might not use that often. This trend is mainly due to social media culture among youngsters and devastating food habits of younger generation.
I will be discussing the reasons behind this trend along with the solutions which we can implement to mitigate it.
To begin with the causes, due to social media driven lifestyle people want to make their virtual presence good in front of their friends and followers. Not only they buy it because of peer pressure but to showoff among others which can lead to a high expenditure. For example, platforms like Instagram and Facebook negatively promotes the fashion trends among users through the influencers which can built pressure on fans to purchase more and more clothing articles even if there is no need. In addition, in these days a obesity is one of the major health concern around the world so the cloths which people buy no longer fit them in few years as they keep gaining weight because of bad food habits such as, junk food and frozen food. As they need to buy more and more fits for them.
On the other hand, there are few possible solutions . Firstly, we can use social media to make people aware about the peer pressure among the financially backward class. In other words we can use social apps to promote the wise use of money instead of blindly following trends which is not going to last for few weeks. Secondly, government should run campaigns on making citizens healthy and fit by providing the public services like gyms and fitness center.
To conclude, although this is a common problem in many nations but we can overcome it by guiding the youth in right direction with combine efforts of government and public like promoting health and teaching wise use of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for excessive clothing consumption and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The link between 'obesity' and buying new clothes is a relevant point, but the connection between 'social media' and 'financially backward class' in the solutions paragraph is unclear and lacks logical depth. While the position is clear, some arguments are over-generalized, such as the claim that social media trends only last for a few weeks. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason and solution is fully explained with more specific, logical examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand', which help the reader follow the flow of ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In other words we can use social apps'. Additionally, the referencing within sentences is occasionally imprecise, which slightly affects the overall flow. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within the second body paragraph could be strengthened to better link the proposed solutions to the identified problems.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'expenditure', 'mitigate', and 'influencers'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'devastating food habits' (instead of 'unhealthy' or 'poor'), 'negatively promotes' (instead of 'promotes negative'), and 'built pressure' (should be 'build'). Spelling errors like 'todays' (missing apostrophe) and 'cloths' (instead of 'clothes') also occur. A wider range of precise vocabulary would be needed for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many individual are', 'a obesity is'), incorrect pluralization ('the cloths which people buy no longer fit them in few years'), and missing articles ('in few years', 'in right direction'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not prevent communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score to the 6.0 band.
