Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for overconsumption and solutions. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention social media and status as reasons, and taxes and advertising as solutions, these points lack depth and specific illustrative examples. For instance, you mention 'relevant example' in the introduction but fail to provide a concrete scenario or personal experience to support your claims. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas with more detailed explanations and specific evidence rather than just listing points. The position is clear, but the overall development is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In summary' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion. For example, the phrase 'Both the statements will be discuss' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Additionally, some sentences feel disconnected because of the limited range of linking words. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive or slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'buying too many clothes from social platform' and 'invest their money on new costumes' (costumes is usually reserved for theatrical or fancy dress). There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'decease' instead of 'decrease' and 'get attract' instead of 'get attracted'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in grammar and word formation, such as 'there are various types of reason' (should be 'reasons'), 'will be discuss' (should be 'discussed'), and 'get encourage' (should be 'be encouraged'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage also need attention. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and pluralization.
