Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for excessive clothing consumption and potential solutions. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the reasons provided—fashion trends, celebrity influence, and online shopping—are mentioned but not deeply explored or supported with specific, illustrative examples. Similarly, the solutions are presented in a general way, such as 'awareness can be generated,' without detailing how this would practically reduce consumption. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more concrete evidence or logical reasoning to demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with,' 'Moreover,' and 'Firstly,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the link between the 'reasons' paragraph and the 'solutions' paragraph could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally effective, though some sentences could be better connected to improve the overall flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'amenities,' 'multitudes,' 'endorse,' and 'sustainability.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'In few parts of the globe' is unnatural; 'In some parts of the globe' would be more accurate. 'Plethora of reasons' is a good attempt at a less common phrase, but 'feel tempting in checking' is grammatically incorrect and awkward. To improve, focus on using collocations more naturally and ensure that less common vocabulary is used with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'There are plethora of reasons' (missing article), 'Another point include' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'new attires' (attire is typically an uncountable noun). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors, such as the spacing in 'famous brands.' While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy will help improve this score.
