Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for excessive clothing consumption and strategies for reduction. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of celebrities and the importance of financial awareness. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example regarding the Indian survey is specific, but the explanation of how to persuade people is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments, such as the role of 'fast fashion' marketing or the environmental impact of consumerism, rather than focusing primarily on parental guidance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moving further', and 'Overall'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'And there some ways' or 'As if they can make aware'. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack smooth transitions between clauses, which occasionally disrupts the flow of the argument. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'contemporary world', 'role model', and 'attire'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'try new brand' (should be 'brands'), 'cloths' (should be 'clothes'), and 'ads of Punjabi suit given by' (should be 'advertisements for... featuring'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Expanding your range of collocations and ensuring correct word forms will improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing articles ('the' brand), incorrect verb forms ('celebrities giving ads' instead of 'celebrities give ads'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('every thing become expensive'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
