Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people buy so many clothes in different parts of country. There are diferent reasons for that such as trending fashion and infulance of popular media celebs. With the help of goverment we can control people to spend less money on buying clothes. In the upcoming paras we can discuss both.
To begin with, individuals spend their money on buying clothes because they want to look good and feel confident among others. Next, people purchase clothes to fallow the trend or fashion for different occasions and parties. Moreover, public nowadays infulanced by the TV actors whatever they wear, eat and lifestyle was closely fallowed by everyone and later become trend which everyone want to fallow. As a result, people start buying new clothes, fallow trends etc.
On the other hand, goverment can encourage people to buy things which is more important as campare to buy clothes. They also impose more taxes on wearing brands and import dueties so that individuals spend less money on clothes. For example, if goverment add tax on famous clothing brands it increase their actuall cost and because of that, if one dress cost 200$ after adding 15% tax it become around 250$ which is not worth it at all. Thus, people start buying other things intead of purchasing clothes.
In conclusion, most part of the world people buying clothes and spend their money on it because they want to fallow new fashion trends. but with the help of higher authorties we can encourage perons to stop buying and do not waste the money on clothes which is not worth it in long term.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the reasons why people buy too many clothes and suggesting ways to reduce this behavior. The student identifies relevant points such as trending fashion, the influence of popular media celebrities, and potential government interventions like taxation and import duties. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the conclusion and body paragraphs. While the position is clear throughout, the explanations lack deep extension and rely on simple assertions. Examples provided, such as calculating a hypothetical tax on a garment, are relevant and attempt to support the arguments, but overall the task is addressed in a basic manner that aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. The writer uses transitional markers like 'To begin with', 'Next', and 'On the other hand', but some cohesive devices are used inaccurately or repetitively, such as the repeated misspelling and misuse of referencing words. Furthermore, paragraphing in the conclusion is abrupt, and some sentences lack smooth logical progression. Overall, the organizational structure is visible, but the flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical transitions and awkward phrasing, placing it firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting less common items such as 'infulanced', 'higher authorties', and 'import dueties'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'diferent', 'infulance', 'fallow', 'infulanced', 'goverment', 'campare', 'dueties', 'actuall', 'intead', 'authorties', and 'perons'. While these errors do not severely impede communication because the intended meaning remains understandable, their frequency prevents the writer from achieving a higher score. Word choice is generally functional but lacks precision and sophistication, making Band 5.0 the most appropriate reflection of the lexical control demonstrated here.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting conditional structures such as 'if goverment add tax on famous clothing brands it increase their actuall cost'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('with the help of goverment'), subject-verb agreement issues ('clothes buying and spend', 'cost 200$ after adding 15% tax it become'), and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation and capitalization are also problematic, particularly after periods and at the start of sentences. Although the errors are frequent, they rarely completely impede communication. This balance of mixed structures and persistent inaccuracies corresponds to a Band 5.0 performance.
