Student answer (Band 6.0)

In some areas of the world, people purchase too many clothes. The question remains that how can people be convinced in limiting the quantity of clothes they purchase. The reasons and the question will be address in further paragraphs.

To elaborate the reasons, females may be influenced by many of the fashion comparisons. Where usually woman compete with each other in order to look the most beautiful in the room. As a result, fashion industries get motivated to increase more fashionable clothing items to increase the sales by proper marketing to the concerned people. Another reason can be that, people are often judge by their looks. In order to maintain the reputation and image in public, people are attracted to buy new clothes which can be wore separately for every different occasions like marriage function, trips, work places, and many more. There are plenty of options in clothing and one fashnionable item can not be able to wear for all different occasions.

To convince people in doing something out their own will is difficult. Although managing and maintaining the status can be necessary, people should be aware about the consequences of purchasing too many clothes which can lead to environmental damage because as they buy too many clothes, industries will make more clothes and due to that pollution will increase. Many people are having the mindset that one cloth can not be wear again in any occasion and because of this people go for the shopping arguing they have nothing to wear. People often has poor memory and it can be a myth that people notices every single detail for a particular clothing of a person. Removing this types of unnecessary thinking might motivate to buy less clothes. However getting judged by appearance is the foremost thing which all do, real nature should be made the most important aspect to observe in any individuals. For example, if anyone observe the people and by that they assume they are nice or bad which can not be true always.

In conclusion, the reason of any person who get influence by getting a new set of clothes has been observed that it maybe because of fashion manipulations or maintaining the impression infront of others and possible solution that avoiding unwanted thinking and buying unnecessary items can be limited as per the need.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying too many clothes and how people can be persuaded to reduce this behavior. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas lack full development and tend to over-generalize, such as the claim that 'females may be influenced by many of the fashion comparisons' or that people have poor memory regarding what others wear. While the reasoning is generally relevant and supported with daily life examples, the explanations occasionally loop or become repetitive, particularly in the discussion on social judgment and environmental impacts. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a solid Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into four paragraphs with a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs exploring reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in awkward transitional openings like 'To elaborate the reasons' and 'To convince people in doing something out their own will is difficult.' Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression within the third paragraph stumbles slightly due to convoluted sentence structures. These cohesive shortcomings place this criterion at Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'reputation', 'consequences', 'environmental damage', and 'manipulations'. There are, however, noticeable word-choice errors, collocational slips, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'fashnionable', 'one cloth can not be wear', and 'infront'. While these lexical inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, they restrict the vocabulary score to Band 6.0 because less common items are not used with consistent precision or natural control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasings throughout the response. Examples include 'The question remains that how can people be convinced...', 'The reasons and the question will be address in further paragraphs', and 'due to that pollution will increase.' Passive and active voice confusions ('one cloth can not be wear again') and articles errors also recur. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause the reader some difficulty, this performance aligns with Band 5.0.
