Student answer (Band 6.0)

Buying expensive and branded clothes has been growing day by day ; therefore , in the some regions of the world , individuals are purchasing clothes beyond their needs. It has become habit of them . In this essay , I will not only mention reasons related to this issue but also explain some measures like how we can persuade floks to reduce their number of purchasing clothes.

On the one hand , there are some reasons why individulas like to buy number of clothes, in this comtemporary era. First reason of it is social media. As , social media has been growing , everyone has their own cell phones , they watch celebrities and other influencer in new clothes everyday. Therefore , after getting influence from them they just want to change their look and buy latest fashionable clothes. Secondly , in this digital era , everyones uses socila media apps like Facebook , Instagram and Tiktok where they post their photos or videos to show their hidden talent and they want to be famous . Hence , they purchase newly branded or fashionable clothes to rise their fan following beyond their needs or limits.

On the paradoxical side , there are certain measures to tackle this issue. Firstly ,governant should put some initiatives to slove it like they must arrange some programs in which famous personalities must invlove to whom youth follow ,they should give information to youngters that if they want to be famous so there is no need to waste valuable money on clothes they can become famous by showing their hidden talent . Additionally , there should be other platforms where they can get information about how they are harming their environment due to collecting too many clothes as clothes are made from far of sheeps and others animals and to fulfill on growing demand of clothes too many animals are used , which is not safe for our next generation future and also for the ecosystem . As a result , they can know about the demerits of having too many clothes and may be they can reduce their demand .

In conclusion, these are reasons and sloutions to slove this issue and I believe if these steps would be follow by social bodies then this issue can be resolved .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by exploring the reasons behind excessive clothing purchases, such as social media influence and the desire for fame, and suggests persuasive measures like government initiatives and environmental awareness campaigns. The position is clear throughout, and the main ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as mentioning specific platforms like Instagram and TikTok. While some arguments could be explored in greater depth, the response meets the criteria for Band 6.0 and edges into Band 7.0 territory by fully tackling both prompt requirements with a clear overall stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised with clear paragraphing, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs addressing reasons and solutions, and finishing with a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used throughout, such as 'On the one hand', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'On the paradoxical side'. Additionally, spacing errors around punctuation detract from overall fluency. Overall organisation is coherent, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'contemporary era', 'demerits', and 'ecosystem'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, incorrect collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'governant' instead of government, 'slove' instead of solve, 'floks' instead of folks, and 'socila' instead of social. These inaccuracies prevent the score from reaching a higher band, placing the response firmly at Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage, including punctuation spacing issues (e.g., 'day by day ; therefore ,'), subject-verb agreement errors ('everyones uses'), and awkward phrasing ('if these steps would be follow'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur regularly enough to prevent the writing from achieving a Band 7.0.
