Student answer (Band 4.0)
People have varied opinions as some believe that human beings are the best source to obtain any information or advice, while others argue that technology and written documents are the most reliable option. However, In my opinion, both ways are better to get knowledge according to the nature of the information.
On the one hand, according to some individuals, people are better to gain information or advice because they have life-experiences. Many people have worked in different sectors and environments where they socialized and learned different aspects of life. For example, it is better to get advice regarding buying a house or a property from financial advisors rather than depending on the internet statistics.
Some People think internet or books are an effective way to equip with knowledge about anything as it provides both flexibility and well explained information. Online websites can be accessed from anywhere in the world and people can learn and watch anything multiple types. Also, most of the books provide verified and detailed information, especially regarding events based on history.
From my perspective, both methods of gaining information are essential as people rely on other people for the knowledge based on the real-life as they have survived and learned during the years. They can advice them realistic opinions with the long-term consequences of wrong decisions. Similarly, Internet and books are essential for youngster as they can study from them and gain unlimited knowledge which will improve their acadamic outcomes.
In conclusion, Although people can provide advices from their own experiences and internet can equip with unlimited and flexible knowledge. However, I believe that the combination of both methods will provide more positive results.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 1.0
The candidate has addressed a completely different topic from the prompt provided. The prompt asks about the reasons people buy too many clothes and how they can be persuaded to reduce this consumption. However, the student's essay discusses whether human beings or technology/written documents are better sources of information and advice. Because the response is entirely off-topic and fails to address any part of the actual task instructions, it falls into the lowest band for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
Despite being off-topic, the essay demonstrates basic organisational structure with clear paragraphing, an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Transitional phrases such as 'On the one hand', 'Some People think', and 'In conclusion' are used to structure the text, though some cohesive devices are mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, and the overall progression is discernible even though the content is irrelevant to the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, featuring words such as 'environment', 'socialized', 'flexibility', and 'consequences'. However, there are notable lexical errors and unnatural collocations throughout the text, such as 'multiple types' instead of 'multiple times', 'acadamic' instead of 'academic', and confusion between 'advice' (noun) and 'advise' (verb) in phrases like 'They can advice them'. The range of vocabulary is limited and restricts precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Online websites can be accessed from anywhere in the world and people can learn and watch anything multiple types.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and word forms (e.g., 'people are better to gain information' and 'internet can equip with unlimited and flexible knowledge'). Punctuation errors are also present, such as incorrect comma splices and fragment sentences following conjunctions.
