Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era people are more focused towards fashion, and end up buying trendy stuff. There are several reasons behind this such as social media posts, online shopping trends and discounted prices. In this essay i will discuss these reasons breafli and some recomendation to overcome this issue.

Firstly, the more promenent reason of overbuying dresses is activeness on social media platforms, as people saw different reels trend and for following these they buy all the materialistic items to follow the same trend. To explicate this , when people saw there favourit favourit influencers on instagram or face book they want to look like them to addap their lifestyle. Secound valuable reason is online shopping platrorms, which make buying more conviniance and time saving. For instance buyers do not need to go out to spend mony thay can purchase anything on just few clicks, which save time but ending op making customers shopoholoic.

However, there are some ways to overcome this problem. They should start renting clothes rather then buying them ,if a person really want to try new trends it is a good way to reduce the purchasing. Moreover, by setting the limit on there cards can help them to stop overbuying. For example, a person is having a certain amount to spent every month could reduce there focus from shopping and saving money for future.

In conclusion, modern way of shopping and to following new fashion people in some regions buy too many outfits. Altho, following some restrictions and controling budget can help to stop the trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying reasons for over-buying clothes, such as social media and online shopping, and suggesting solutions like renting clothes and budgeting. The position is clear throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies on generalisations. For instance, the explanation of social media influence mentions that 'when people saw there favourit favourit influencers on instagram or face book they want to look like them,' which touches on the core issue but lacks deeper elaboration or more specific examples from personal knowledge or experience. Consequently, the response sits comfortably within Band 6, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some parts are slightly under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing reasons and solutions, followed by a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'However,' and 'For example' are used to signal the progression of ideas, although some transitions feel a bit mechanical or faulty, as seen in the phrase 'In conclusion, modern way of shopping and to following new fashion people in some regions buy too many outfits.' Referencing is occasionally unclear due to pronoun ambiguity (e.g., 'They should start renting clothes...'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Overall, the logical flow is mostly maintained, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases like 'materialistic items,' 'shopoholoic,' and 'overbuying.' However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'breafli' instead of briefly, 'recomendation' instead of recommendations, 'promenent' instead of prominent, 'addap' instead of adopt, 'conviniance' instead of convenience, and 'moni' instead of money. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not seriously impede overall communication. Because the vocabulary range is sufficient but marred by frequent spelling and morphological inaccuracies, a Band 5.0 is the most appropriate score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. Examples include conditional and relative-style clauses such as 'if a person really want to try new trends it is a good way...' and 'a person is having a certain amount to spent every month could reduce...' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb agreements, tenses, and prepositions. Examples include 'people saw different reels trend,' 'people want to look like them to addap their lifestyle,' and 'spending money thay can purchase anything on just few clicks.' Punctuation and capitalization issues are also present, such as 'i' and missing spaces after commas. These persistent errors place the grammar firmly in the Band 5 category.
