Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many parts of the world, there has been a significant number of individuals are purchasing too many garments irrespective to their financial status. The main reasons behind this trend is, nowadays people are concerned about latest trends and follow them considerably. I believe people may be persuaded to reduce the number of clothes they buy if they look after their health instead of their clothes seriously and not influenced by the well-known artists on social media.
One of the main reasons why people buying so many clothes is the advertisements on social media applications of latest brand clothes by famous influencers. This is because young people follow them blindly which cause them to get their latest clothes collection. As a result, they buy garments similar to their influencers attires and post pictures on social media to show their love and affection towards them. For instance, many clothes manufracturer brands do collaboration with social media influencers to advertised their garments all over the world. Moreover, some people might think getting more branded clothes is also show their high status in the society. Because branded attires are usually expensive which define their wealthiness.
People may get more aware about their physical well being rather than their attires. Sometimes individuals might not healthy from inside but giving more attension to follow the clothes trends can cause issues to their internal system. In addition, youngsters may get not influenced by these social media influencers if they become more knowledgeable and awared about brands collaborations. For instance, authorities may start awareness campaigns through internet to provide more education abouth these trends. Therefore, people may try to spend less money on clothes and give importance to other important things in their lives.
In conclusion, although people could spend less amount of money on clothes to show themselves clean and smart. However, spending money on clothes blindly may increase problems related to their finances and lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying too many clothes and ways people can be persuaded to reduce this behavior. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay, and relevant ideas are presented, such as social media influencer marketing and shifting focus towards physical well-being. However, some ideas lack deep extension and support, tending toward broad generalizations. For instance, the suggestion about looking after health is introduced rather abruptly and remains somewhat underdeveloped. Despite these minor limitations, all parts of the task are appropriately covered, aligning well with the Band 6.5 to 7.0 range descriptors, earning a solid Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall arrangement with logical progression from the introduction to reasons, solutions, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different main ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'One of the main reasons', 'Moreover', and 'In addition', although referencing and transitions can occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive ('This is because', 'As a result'). Paragraph transitions are generally manageable, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'financial status', 'manufacturer brands', and 'physical well-being'. However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'irrespective to their financial status' (instead of 'irrespective of'), 'manufracturer' (spelling error), 'awared' (non-standard form), and 'wealthiness' (wealth). While these lexical inaccuracies do not impede communication, they prevent the score from reaching higher bands. The vocabulary range is sufficient for Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures. However, grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('there has been a significant number of individuals are purchasing', 'The main reasons behind this trend is'), preposition errors, and awkward phrasing ('get their latest clothes collection'). There are also punctuation and phrasing slips that require the reader to occasionally re-read parts of sentences. Because errors persist and affect accuracy across multiple sentence types, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
