Student answer (Band 5.0)
Often times, people buy too many clothes because either they don't want to be left out from the current trends or they think that they require new clothes for every occasion and place otherwise they will get insulted or behind from the others.
Mainly this kind of nature mainly found in the women who already have cupboards full of clothes but still said that they have nothing to wear.
Some women in this category went further that they keep those clothes for years without wearing them again. The example of these kind of people includes Celebrities.
The possible way to reduce the persuaded number of clothes they buy can be that a person wear already purchased clothes to a place where they not wear before or in front of the audience that do not witness it before in the first stage, Later on wear them at home as home clothes and at the end wear them as sleeping clothes.
That's how clothes will be utilized completely with that number of clothes to buy is reduced as well.
However, still from these peoples only minor will follow this framework and majority will still have the old thinking and buy far too many clothes then what they required on have place to accommodate.
The reason for buying even more clothes was also that in case they need in future for some occasion or reduce weight then it will get utilized at that moment. However, many times that moment never came in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing reasons why people buy too many clothes, such as keeping up with trends and wanting outfits for every occasion, and offers solutions like reusing clothes in different contexts. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on solutions focuses almost exclusively on a sequential wear-pattern for individual garments rather than exploring broader societal, psychological, or marketing interventions. The position is sometimes unclear because the line of argument jumps between general observations and specific examples without fully explaining them. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to expand on the underlying causes of consumerism and provide more thorough, well-supported strategies for reducing clothing purchases.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organization present, with separate paragraphs attempting to introduce reasons and solutions. However, there is no clear overall progression from beginning to end, and the logical transition between ideas is frequently disrupted. For example, the text relies heavily on repetitive structures and mechanical linking phrases like 'Mainly this kind of nature mainly found' and 'Later on wear them'. Paragraphing is also erratic, consisting of very short, isolated sentences and single-sentence paragraphs that impede the flow of the text. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'these kind of people' where the precise antecedent is muddled. To improve, the writer must ensure logical sequencing between sentences and use cohesive devices more accurately to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common phrasing, but this results in noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'persuaded number of clothes', 'get insulted or behind', and 'reduce weight then it will get utilized'. Repetition of basic words like 'clothes', 'buy', and 'wear' is evident throughout the response. While meaning is generally conveyed despite these slips, the lexical control restricts the precision of the argument. Incorporating a wider range of precise, topic-specific vocabulary and ensuring correct collocations would significantly strengthen this aspect of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article use, and prepositional patterns, such as 'where they not wear before', 'audiance that do not witness it', and 'peoples only minor will follow'. Run-on sentences and punctuation lapses also occur, as seen in the opening sentence which strings multiple clauses together awkwardly. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex clause structures, improve grammatical accuracy across different verb tenses, and refine sentence boundaries.
