Student answer (Band 5.5)

In selective portions of the world, an individuals purchase a significant numbers of clothes for their work place or to fulfil their interest.

To begin with, one of the key factor is 5 or 6 days a week onsite job because, everyday they have to deal with customes or seniors in their field and different designs in cloatheing buils such a great confidance during the performance. Also, it creats a professional personality infront of judge. Moreover, majority of employees likes variety in their daily cloathing selection rather then keeping 5 or 6 pairs in wardrobe. For instance, a survey illustrates that, in recent years a numerous Formal cloathing pairs were purchased by employees working with government or running their own business rather than the fashion brand.

On the other hand, everyone should put some cap on spending for cloathing because after 1 year a formal pair looks like new but, it's just a piece of cloath due to improper fitting. To overcome this issue, company should introduce an uniform for the whole staff and creat various designs in shits to differenciate the position such as blue shirts are for juniors and white shirts are for seniors. This small step will creat equality in the company. In Additation, an organization should creat work from home environment for IT persons and it will creat a huge benefit for the employees and, all will spend less on cloathing. For example, an article demonstrate that, ICICI bank started work from home for their employees and nowadays bank have more savings due to less spending on cloathings and equally for the staff members.

Taking everything into account, I believe using uniform and work from home are perfect rather than spending a lot of amount for cloathes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main parts of the task by identifying reasons why people buy many clothes, such as workplace requirements, and suggesting solutions like uniforms and remote work. However, some ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, the first body paragraph touches upon onsite jobs and professional personality, but the explanation remains basic and lacks detailed elaboration. Similarly, the second body paragraph introduces solutions regarding corporate uniforms and work-from-home policies, but these arguments are presented with generalized examples that do not fully explore broader societal consumer habits. The position is generally clear throughout, but the overall treatment of the prompt remains partial, with ideas lacking the depth and extension required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The text displays some overall organization with clear paragraph breaks, dividing the introduction, reasons, solutions, and conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear progression throughout the response, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by mechanical or inadequate cohesive devices. Transition phrases such as 'To begin with,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In Additation,' are used to signal shifts, but referencing is not always clear, and the connection of ideas within paragraphs can feel disjointed. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires better linking to guide the reader smoothly from one point to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about clothing purchases and workplace policies. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the response, such as 'customes' instead of customers, 'cloatheing' instead of clothing, 'shits' instead of shirts, and 'Additation' instead of addition. These lexical inaccuracies and persistent spelling mistakes cause occasional difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary, preventing the writing from achieving a more flexible and precise expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are noticeable errors in grammar, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'an individuals purchase a significant numbers', 'one of the key factor is', and 'company should introduce an uniform'. Punctuation and pluralization are also inconsistently handled, as seen in phrases like 'a numerous Formal cloathing pairs'. These frequent grammatical errors cause some difficulty for the reader and indicate a need for better control over basic and complex syntactic structures.
