Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, wearing new trending clothes for every function, occassions or events has become a mandatory fashion and for this reason many people from around the world purchase a wide range of clothes every now an than. For instance the primary reasons possibly could be freshness and following the trend. Whereas there is a great demand to make people aware about the concept of reusing the same clothes in a different way and this could be done by self monitoring and controlling.
Firstly one of the major reason of purchasing the new clothes and a wide range of clothes for every event is that the people of this generation believe that wearing the same clothes that has been weared once in any of the function or event is of no use after the pictures being uploaded on social media, as they believe that repetition is one of the biggest crime. Secondly every person irrespective of their body wants to follow the trend and buy new clothes which can create a concept purchasing too many clothes.
However this has become the major concern and the people need to get aware about the usage of correct purchasing and following the trend. Instantly for this one need to self monitor themselves. Resuing the old purchased clothes is one of the best solution to persuade people to reduce the number of clothes they purchase. This will not only help them to use the clothes productively but will make a new normal in the society that reusing could also be trendy on the same end.
In my personal opinion, buying too many clothes for every event, party or function is waste of time, energy and money one can look preety and beautiful wearing the same clothes but with new trends, fashion and looks. It all depends on ones mindset. Therefore it would not be wrong to say that in place by buying new clothes to bring freshness and to follow the trend one can build a concept of reusing and following the trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding the reasons for buying too many clothes and how people can be persuaded to reduce this behavior. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. While the student identifies social media pressure and trend-following as causes, and suggests self-monitoring and reusing clothes as solutions, the explanations lack sufficient depth and specific examples from personal knowledge or experience. The position is stated, but the overall development of arguments stays at a superficial level, preventing the response from reaching a higher level of task fulfillment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some organizational structure with distinct paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression from beginning to end. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'However', but they are sometimes applied mechanically or inaccurately, as seen with 'Instantly for this one need to self monitor themselves.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas within paragraphs can feel disjointed. Paragraphing is attempted, but logical links between sentences require more careful management to ensure a smoother flow of information.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited in range and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form throughout the text, such as 'occassions', 'an than', 'Resuing', and 'preety'. The student attempts some less common expressions like 'mandatory fashion' and 'self-monitoring', but these are accompanied by awkward collocations and spelling inaccuracies that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the precision of the message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, these are often faulty, featuring errors in subject-verb agreement, verb forms, and prepositions, such as 'clothes that has been weared once' and 'in place by buying new clothes'. Frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the essay, including punctuation and article usage, which can cause some difficulty for the reader and disrupt the clarity of the sentences.
