Student answer (Band 5.0)
In countries like India, we have a cosmopolitian crowd means different cultures of people living here in-turn different types of clothes. In India old people don't care of clothing but when it comes to younger generations, they are found of clothes whether it is traditional, casuals or office wears. Many youngsters are now working and they dress up with different styles.Countries like Europe or America where it said to be western culture, people are also with same mind set of wearing different clothes. People buy too many clothes and some buy as per ocassions or parties. Their dress style depends on what is the function related to.
I have read that in America people just wear more of casuals irrespective whether they are at home or at office. Infact, they buy lots of party wear and this generation cannot be stopped. Also if we see in Asia, people follow the same as like Europeons in dressing sense. If we talk about Africans they are not so much interested as most of them earnings are not enough to buy different types of clothing. But apart from Africa rest of world is into fashion and therefore they spend too much money on clothing.
We should limit to certain budget while spending in clothing and this change we see in older people. Perhaps, this kind of approach is all over the world but we don't have any control on the youngsters and hence buying clothes cannot be completely eliminated. Some people think its waste of money because after certain age, you can notice the changes in your body. Since eh clothes doesn't fit anymore because of thesebody changes so we have to either donate it or throw it away.
In conclusion: depending upon the people earnings, we should limit the funds to be spent on clothing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt only partially, which keeps it within this band. While you mention reasons for buying many clothes, such as generational differences and the influence of western culture, these ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, stating that younger generations 'are found of clothes' or discussing how people dress depending on occasions lacks sufficient depth or specific examples. Furthermore, the second part of the prompt regarding how people can be persuaded to reduce their purchases is only briefly and vaguely touched upon through a passing mention of setting a budget. To move towards higher bands, you need to fully develop both parts of the task with extended explanations and clearer, more thorough supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organization evident in the division of paragraphs, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Ideas tend to jump between regions like India, Europe, America, and Africa without smooth transitions or a unified logical flow. Cohesive devices are used rather repetitively and sometimes inaccurately, such as starting paragraphs with 'Also if we see' or 'In conclusion: depending upon'. Referencing between sentences is occasionally unclear, making it harder for the reader to follow the main argument. To achieve a higher score, you should ensure that each paragraph builds logically on the previous one, utilizing a wider and more accurate range of cohesive markers to connect your thoughts seamlessly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate for discussing the topic of fashion and clothing consumption. You attempt some less common words and phrases such as 'cosmopolitian crowd', 'traditional, casuals or office wears', and 'party wear', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word form and collocation, such as 'found of clothes' instead of fond of clothes and 'ocassions'. These lexical slips and inaccuracies sometimes cause slight difficulty for the reader. To improve your lexical score, focus on expanding your vocabulary related to consumerism and fashion, pay closer attention to correct word forms and spellings, and incorporate more precise, natural collocations into your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple or somewhat faulty complex sentences. There are frequent errors in grammar, including issues with subject-verb agreement, prepositions, articles, and plurals, such as 'most of them earnings are not enough', 'where it said to be western culture', and 'Since eh clothes doesn't fit anymore'. These frequent errors frequently strain the reader and cause difficulty in fully grasping your intended meaning. To reach higher bands, you need to demonstrate better control over a wider variety of complex grammatical structures, ensuring that your verb tenses, word order, and punctuation are much more accurate.
