Student answer (Band 5.0)

Clothes are necessity of every individual. Now a days people wear trendy clothes to look more fashionable. In some parts of Nation, Folks bought alot of clothings becasue they think that they do not have clothes to wear in any function or event. Mostly, People did not wanted to repeat clothes. I will Define my answer with suitable example in the upcoming paragraph.

To start with, In present modernised Era, people tend to belive that material possession is everything. Also, For this generation which is "Gen Z", they are more in luxury than simple life. People started beliving that you need more clothes to look attractive and up to do. Moreover, There are lots of brands in market that influence pupils to buy expensive and new clothes so that they feel updated all the time. As a result of it, Everybody spend alot of money buying new clothes.

In addition to it, Teens nowadays belive that if they repeat clothes they look like old school or nerd in front of everyone. For example: In college, Students wear different and branded clothes everyday, If they repeat their clothings, their friends make fun of them now having good or enough clothes. As a result of it, they started buying more and more clothes, so they do not have to repeat clothes all the time in school, college or any Function. But they do not have to do this.

To wrap up the things, According to my point of view, Folks do not have to buy extreme clothes , they have to come up with unique ideas like, People can upcycle clothes by making different outfits while mix and matching their old clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by attempting to discuss both the reasons why people buy too many clothes and how they can be persuaded to reduce this consumption. However, the development of these ideas remains limited. While reasons such as peer pressure and the desire not to repeat outfits in college are introduced, they are somewhat repetitive and lack deeper extension. The section on solutions mentions upcycling, but it is rather brief and lacks concrete strategies for persuasion, such as government campaigns or educational programs. The position is visible throughout, but the overall treatment of the task is partial and lacks fully elaborated supporting examples, keeping the response at a level where ideas are presented with only limited development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates some organisation with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, reasons, and the conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the logical flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical and repetitive cohesive devices, such as the frequent use of phrases like 'As a result of it' and 'In addition to it'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transitions between sentences can feel abrupt, which hinders the overall cohesion of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph structure lacks smooth logical links, leading to a choppy reading experience that typifies a developing organisational structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited in range and minimally adequate for discussing the topic of fashion and consumerism. There are noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'clothings', 'becasue', 'belive', 'alot', and 'up to do'. While the writer attempts to use less common items like 'material possession' and 'upcycle', inaccuracies in word form and collocation occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Words are sometimes used in incorrect forms or with spelling errors that impede seamless communication, placing the lexical control firmly within the basic and repetitive tier.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic complex forms. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, accompanied by frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, articles, and capitalization. Examples include 'Clothes are necessity' (missing article), 'Folks bought alot' (incorrect tense shift), and 'Students wear different and branded clothes everyday' (run-on structure). Punctuation errors, such as unnecessary commas before dependent clauses, also persist. These frequent errors in grammar and mechanics cause occasional difficulty and distraction for the reader, reflecting a restricted control over grammatical structures.
