Student answer (Band 6.0)

People love to buy countless clothes in various parts of glob. I'll discuss what are they main reasons of this behaviour and how we can reduce this trend.

Some people love to be seen or wants to feel the spot lights on them. That's why they'll keep their wardrobe up-to-date, so they can't left behind the trend. On the other hand, for some of us it is just impulsive purchase or either boredom side effect. Or for some of it is just their passion for the dresses. For some of us it is just a releaf we feel after buying any new cloth.

To reduce this impulsive purchase we can asked those people to delete the shopping apps. This will show drastically decline in the shopping trend. For the passionist people, we can ask them to follow the One-in One-out rule. Which is buy one donate one, this will also help those who cannot afford this much spending on the clothes.

People need to identify their trigger points which cause this impulsive purchase. We need to understand the boredom shopping vs actual wardrobe need. To handle the up-to-date fashion trigger, we need to implement the 20 minute rule, which states that we need to think about 20 minutes before we buy, do we actually need this or is this just an impulsive or boredom decision.

For example, we'll buy alot of the stuff while we are having mental breakdown or we are doing the dom scrolling in those periods we just add-to-cart without needing them at all. After the moment pass we regret it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question and give relevant reasons, including keeping up with fashion, impulsive buying, boredom, and the pleasure of shopping. You also suggest practical ways to reduce purchases, such as deleting shopping apps, using a one-in-one-out rule, and pausing before buying. The example of adding items to a cart during a difficult period helps illustrate impulsive shopping. This meets the task well overall, but some ideas are more fully addressed than others: the reasons are listed rather than explained in depth, and the donation suggestion is not clearly linked to reducing the number of clothes people buy. To develop the response further, explain how each proposed measure would change buying habits and support key points with a more specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a generally clear arrangement: it introduces the issue, presents reasons, and then gives several ways to address it. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “For example” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes list-like, with several reasons or solutions placed together without showing how they connect. The sentence beginning “Which is buy one donate one” is also detached from the preceding idea, and references such as “those people” and “this” are not always precise. Use complete sentences to explain each proposal, and link each solution directly to the specific cause it is intended to address. This would make cohesion less mechanical and the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “wardrobe,” “impulsive purchase,” “trigger points,” and “up-to-date fashion,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There is also an attempt to use more specific expressions such as “One-in One-out rule.” However, the range is uneven, and several inaccurate or informal choices reduce precision: “glob,” “spot lights,” “passionist people,” and “dom scrolling” are unclear or unsuitable in this context. Spelling and word-form errors, including “releaf” and “alot,” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling; for example, use “keep up with fashion trends” rather than “keep their wardrobe up-to-date,” and “doomscrolling” if that is the intended meaning. This will make your vocabulary more reliable and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex structures, including explanations with “That’s why” and a conditional idea about shopping during a mental breakdown. The main message is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to read. Examples include “what are they main reasons,” “they’ll keep their wardrobe … so they can’t left behind,” and “we can asked those people.” There are also sentence fragments, such as “Which is buy one donate one,” and the final example shifts between “we’ll buy” and “we are having.” Practise forming complete sentences, maintaining consistent tense, and checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns. More accurate control of these basics would make your ideas clearer.
