Student answer (Band 6.0)

In some countries, people are spending their money to buying clothes for them. Numerous factors are involved in the enhancement of this phemonenon and feasible measurements can be taken to reduce the usage of excessive clothing.

The very first reason behind purchasing large amount of clothing is following trends. To explain, the growing tendency of designs for fabrics and patterns emphesis wearers to try everything new availale in the market. For example, if there is a new designer suit has launched, majority of people will buy that. However, this problem can be mitigate by spreading awareness. This has become a kind of dogma to try each new design lunched among people, this thought should be removed from peoples' mind. Celebrities can play a huge role here by repeating their own clothes because residents follow their influencer on extreme level. As a result, repetion of old clothes should become common trend.

Another factor of this is unfit outfits by the time. Many people buy cheaper clothes, which got ripped and get tight or loose. Therefore, these situations make people to throw away their clothes and buy new ones instead. Nevertheless, the issue can be solved by the help of manufacturers by yielding stratchable or adjustable clothing. To explore, they outgh to produce such clothing that can be altered easily if the adjustmenets are needed. Leaving extra fabric in the clothing while stiching could be an example of this so people can restich it later. Hence, designers or manufacturers can assist to alleviate the issue.

In conclusion, although following trends and cheap stiching are the reasons for buying too many clothing, the ultimate solutions of the can be solve by the support of popular people and outfit designers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question by identifying trend-following and poorly fitting or short-lived clothes as reasons, then suggesting awareness campaigns, celebrity influence and adjustable garments. The personal example about a cheap item shrinking after washing also supports the second reason. These ideas are relevant, but they are not equally developed: the trend explanation is clear, while the point about clothes becoming tight or loose is less fully connected to buying excessive quantities. The proposed solutions are plausible, though the awareness idea would benefit from a more specific explanation of how it could change purchasing habits. Your conclusion restates the main points, but its reference to solutions is unclear. More precise development and support would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a conclusion. The sequence within each paragraph is generally understandable, and signposts such as “For example,” “Therefore” and “Nevertheless” help show relationships between ideas. This gives the essay a coherent progression. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “However, this problem can be mitigate by spreading awareness” shifts from the cause to a solution without fully explaining the connection, and “Another factor of this” is an imprecise reference. The conclusion’s phrase “the ultimate solutions of the can be solve” also disrupts the final summary. Clearer referencing and more explicit links between each cause and its solution would improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “following trends,” “spreading awareness,” “adjustable clothing” and “alleviate the issue.” These choices show an effort to discuss the topic beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “enhancement of this phemonenon,” “emphesis wearers,” “cheap stiching” and “repetion of old clothes.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “buying their money to buying clothes” and “yielding stratchable clothing.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “spend money on clothes,” “encourage consumers to follow trends” and “produce stretchable garments.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“if there is a new designer suit has launched”) and clauses introduced by “which” and “although.” This shows an attempt to vary sentence structure. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, articles, agreement and sentence patterns can make the reader pause. For example, “people are spending their money to buying clothes” should use “spending money on clothes,” while “this problem can be mitigate” needs a correctly formed passive verb. In “when I buy anything in less price, it usually shrinks … and leave me,” the verb agreement is inconsistent. Practise building accurate clauses before adding complexity, and check each sentence for a clear subject, verb and correct verb form.
